HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 4659 Amends: ORD 4567, 4643 ' Amended By: ORD 4692 , 4756 , CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE N0. 4659 � AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON AMENDING SUBSECTIONS 8-1-9.A AND 8-1-9.B. 1, 2 AND 3 OF CHP.PTER 1 , GARBAGE, OF TITLE VIII (HEALTH AND SANITATION) , OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE ' CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON" RELATING TO 1997 SOLID WASTE. RATES FOR ALL CUSTOMER CLASSES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I . Subsections 8-1-9.A and 8-1-9.B. 1, 2 and 3 of Chapter l, Garbage, of Title VIII (Health and Sanitation) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinance of the City of Renton, Washington" are hereby amended to read as follows : 8-1-9: RATES FOR SERVICES : The following schedule is hereby adopted as _ the charges to be paid to the City for services rendered for each category: A. Residential Customers : l . For garbage cans and/or garbage units: Mini can $ 5.20 per month 1 can collected weekly 11.50 per month 2 cans collected weekly 18.30 per month 3 cans collected weekly 24.60 per month 4 cans collected weekly 31.40 per month 5 cans collected weekly 38.20 per month � Each additional can weekly 6.80 per month Extra garbage, under 15 gallons 3.20 per unit Return trip charge 3.00 per trip 2 . Senior and/or disabled customers who qualified under section 8-4-31 .0 of this Title for low-income rates prior to August 1, 1994, are eligible for a one dollar thirty cents ($1 . 30) fee . mini-can service for a seventy-five percent (750) subsidy, or two dollars ($2 . 00) for a forty percent (400) subsidy. For those senior and/or disabled ORDINANCE N0. 4659 customers who qualify under section 8-4-31 .0 of this Title for low-income rates after August 1, 1994, are eligible for a one dollar thirty cents ($1 . 30) fee mini-can service for a seventy five percent (75%) subsidy, or three dollars ten cents ($3 . 10) for a forty percent (400) subsidy. For services other than mini-can, the rate schedule above will apply. B. Commercial Customers : 1 . Garbage Cans : For "garbage cans" and/or "garbage I units" as herein defined - two dollars ninety cents ($2 . 90) per can per collection. The minimum monthly ! charge for each such account shall be eleven dollars sixty cents ($11 . 60) per month. 2 . Hydraulically Handled Containers : The rate for the handling of hydraulically handled containers approved by the City' s contractor and the City for the use by commercial, industrial, and multiple- family residence establishments shall be as follows : 90 gallon cart..............................$ 10.10 per pickup 1 yard container .............................13.90 per pickup 1.5 yard container...........................19.60 per pickup 2 yard container .............................24.30 per pickup 3 yard container .............................3 5.20 per pickup 3 yard compactor.........................168.70 per pickup 4 yard container .............................46.00 per pickup 4 yard compactor.........................191.00 per pickup 6 yard container .............................64.50 per pickup 6 yard compactor.........................207.00 per pickup 8 yard container .............................83.50 per pickup 20 yard container............................91.40 per pickup � 30 yard container..........................102.80 per pickup 40 yard container..........................113.80 per pickup Compactors, 10 yards...................119.40 per pickup through 20 yards Compactors, 30 yards...............6.90 per yard pickup or larger 2 ORDINANCE N0. 4659 Minimum Pickup: 1 to 8 yard detachable containers.......once per week 20 to 40 yard detachable containers twice per month Compactors.................................... twice per month 3 . Temporary Drops : The rate for handling temporary contractor drop boxes shall be as follows : 8 yard container or less............... $ 83.50 per pickup 20 yard container......................... 130.70 per pickup � 30 yard container......................... 161.10 per pickup 40 yard container......................... 191.80 per pickup A three hundred dollar ($300. 00) advance payment will be required on all temporary garbage services . SECTION II . These rates shall become effective with billings . computed on or after April 1 of the year the budget is adopted. SECTION III . This .ordinance shall be effective upon . its passage, approval, and five days after its publication.
