CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE NO. 4494
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
CHAPTER 31, ZONING CODE, OF TITLE IV (BUILDING
,REGULATIONS) , OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF
GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON" BY
ELIMINATING MINI DAY-CARE AS AN ADMINISTRATIVE
CONDITIONAL USE, AMENDING THE TERM "FAMILY DAY-CARE" TO
CONFORM WITH STATE LAW, AND LISTING "FAMILY DAY-CARE" AS
A PERMITTED USE IN RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL RESIDENTIAL
ZONES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS: �
SECTION I. Section 4-31-2 of Chapter 31, Zoning Code, of
Title IV (Building Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled
"Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is
hereby amended by eliminating DAY CARE, MINI from the DEFINITIONS
section and amending .DAY.. CARE, FAMILY to read as follows :
DAY-CARE, FAMILY-: A day-care operation_ licensed by the state
of Washington (WAC 388-73-014) caring for twelve or fewer chi-ldren
in any twenty-four (24) hour period.
SECTYOPT II. Subsections 4-31-4 . 1 .B.4 .a, 4-31-4-2 .B.4 .a, 4-
31-5.B.4 .b, 4-31-6 .B. 4 .e, 4-31-7 .B.4.c, 4-31-8-B.4 .d and 4-31-
10 . 3 .B. l .b. (2 ) of Chapter 31, Zoning Code, of Title IV (Building
Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General I
Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" are hereby deleted.
SECTION III. Sections 4-31-5, 4-31-6, 4-31-7, 4-31-8, 4-31-
16 and 4-31-25 of Chapter 31, Zoning Code, of Title� IV (Building
Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" are hereby amended to
read as follows :

4-31-6.B.3.e: Family day-care.
4-31-7 .B.3.d: Family day-care.
4-31-8.B.3.c: Family day-care.

S�CTION IV. Subsections 4-31-10 . 1 .B. l .c( 6) , 4-31-
10 .2 .B. l .b(3) and 4-31-10 .4 .B. 1 .b. 7 of Chapter 31, Zoning Code, of
Title IV` (Building Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled
"Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" are
. hereby amended to read as follows :
4-31-10.1.B.l.c(6) : Family day-care and day-care centers .
4-31-10.2.B.l.b(3) : Family day-care and day-care centers .
4-31-10.4.B.l.b. (7) : Family day-care and day-care centers .
SECTION V. Section 4-31-25 .2 .B. 1 of Chapter 31, Zoning
Code-, of Title IV (Building Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260
entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton,
Washington" is hereby amended to read as follows :
4-31-25.2.B.1: Uses permitted in this zone shall be determined
during review and approval of a Master Development Plan provided
they are consistent with the purpose of this zone and the intent of
the Comprehensive Plan. Family Day-Care is permitted outright
without the requirement for Master Development Plan approval.
SECTION VI. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval, and thirty days after publication. -
