CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE NO. 4324
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
CHAPTER 14, LITTER, OF TITLE VI (POLICE REGULATIONS} BY
ADDING ANOTHER SECTION, AMENDING SECTION 6-18-12 OF
CHAPTER 18, PENAL CODE, OF TITLE VI (POLICE REGULATIONS) ,
AND SUBSECTION 10-12-22.H OF CHAPTER 12, TRAFFIC CODE, OF
TITLE X (TRAFFIC) , OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE
OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON"
RELATING TO VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Chapter 14, Litter, of Title VI (Police
Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is hereby amended by
adding the following section:
Section 6-14-22 : VIOLATION - PENALTIES :
It shall be unlawful for any person to violate any of the
provisions of this chapter. Any violation of this chapter shall
constitute a simple misdemeanor and shall be punishable by
imprisonment for no more than 90 days in the city jail, or by fine
of no more than $1, 000 . 00, or by both fine and imprisonment.
SECTION II. Section 6-18-12 of Chapter 18, Penal Code, of
Title VI (Police Regulations) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code
of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is hereby
amended to read as follows :
6-18-12: MENACING: A person is guilty of inenacing if such
person, by physical action, places another person in fear of bodily
injury or death. Menacing is a gross misdemeanor punishable by
imprisonment in the city jail for a term not to exceed 365 days, or
by a fine of $5, 000 . 00, or by both fine and imprisonment.

SECTION III . Section 10-12-22 .H of Chapter 12 , Traffic Code,
of Title X (Traffic) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of
General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is hereby
amended to read as follows :
10-12-22 .H: Penalty: Violation of this ordinance shall be
considered a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment in the city
jail for a term not to exceed 30 days, or by a fine not to exceed
$250 . 00, or by both fine and imprisonment.
SECTION IV. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval, and thirty days after publication.
