LANDSCAPE PLANTING NOTES
1. CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY WITH OWNER AND UTILITY COMPANIES THE LOCATIONS OF ALL UTILITIES PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION, TO
DETERMINE IN THE FIELD THE ACTUAL LOCATIONS AND ELEVATIONS OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES, WHETHER SHOWN ON THE PLANS OR NOT.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CALL UTILITY PROTECTION SERVICE 72 HOURS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR IS TO EXERCISE CARE
TO PROTECT UNDERGROUND UTILITIES AND AVOID DISTURBING OR DAMAGING THEM. CONTRACTOR TO FIELD VERIFY LOCATION AND
DEPTH OF ALL UTILITIES. REFER TO UTILITY SHEETS FOR LOCATIONS. ANY DAMAGE RESULTING FROM THIS WORK MUST BE RESTORED AT
THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL EXAMINE FINISH SURFACE, GRADES, TOPSOIL QUALITY AND DEPTH. DO NOT START ANY WORK UNTIL
UNSATISFACTORY CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. VERIFY LIMITS OF WORK
3. ALL TREE, SHRUB AND GROUNDCOVER AND ANY EXPOSED AREAS SHALL RECEIVE 3" DEPTH MULCH, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
4. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN POSITIVE DRAINAGE IN ALL LANDSCAPE BEDS AND ALL LAWN AREAS.
5. QUANTITIES SHOWN ARE INTENDED TO ASSIST CONTRACTOR IN EVALUATING THEIR OWN TAKE OFFS AND ARE NOT GUARANTEED AS
ACCURATE REPRESENTATIONS OF REQUIRED MATERIALS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS BID QUANTITIES AS
REQUIRED BY THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. IF THERE IS A DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE NUMBER LABELED ON THE PLANT LEGEND
AND THE QUANTITY OF GRAPHIC SYMBOLS SHOWN, THE GRAPHIC SYMBOL QUANTITY SHALL GOVERN.
6. COORDINATE LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION WITH INSTALLATION OF UNDERGROUND SPRINKLER AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT REMOVE ANY TREES DURING CONSTRUCTION NOT MARKED FOR REMOVAL WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN
CONSENT OF THE PROJECT MANAGER.
8. EXISTING VEGETATION TO REMAIN SHALL BE PROTECTED. WHERE PROPOSED TREE LOCATIONS OCCUR UNDER EXISTING OVERHEAD
UTILITIES OR CROWD EXISTING TREES, NOTIFY PROJECT MANAGER TO ADJUST TREE LOCATIONS.
9. LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE PERIOD BEGINS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE COMPLETION OF ALL PLANTING OPERATIONS AND WRITTEN
NOTIFICATION TO THE OWNER. MAINTAIN TREES, SHRUBS, LAWNS AND OTHER PLANTS UNTIL FINAL ACCEPTANCE.
10. REMOVE EXISTING WEEDS FROM PROJECT SITE PRIOR TO THE ADDITION OF ORGANIC AMENDMENTS AND FERTILIZER. APPLY
AMENDMENTS AND FERTILIZER PER THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE SOIL ANALYSIS FROM THE SITE.
11. ALL PLANTS SHALL BE NURSERY GROWN AND SIMILAR SIZE AND FORM. MEASUREMENTS, CALLIPER, BRANCHING, GRADING QUALITY,
BALLING AND BURLAPPING SHALL FOLLOW THE AMERICAN STANDARD OF NURSERY STOCK BY THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF
NURSERYMEN, LATEST EDITION.
12. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN WRITTEN APPROVAL FOR ALL PLANT MATERIAL SUBSTITUTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
13. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO INSTALL ALL PLANT MATERIAL IN THE SIZE SPECIFIED ON PLAN PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
14. NOTIFY THE PROJECT MANAGER IN WRITING, WHEN CONDITIONS DETRIMENTAL TO PLANT GROWTH ARE ENCOUNTERED, SUCH AS RUBBLE
FILL, POOR PLANTING SOIL, ADVERSE DRAINAGE CONDITIONS, OR OBSTRUCTIONS, PRIOR TO PLANTING.
15. FOR COMPOST & TOPSOIL TYPES SEE LANDSCAPE SPECIFICATIONS.

17. LANDSCAPE REMOVED ELSEWHERE FROM THE SITE LOGISTICS TASKS WILL BE REPLACED WITH LANDSCAPING WITHIN THE
TRUCK INSPECTION RELOCATION TASK PER AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BOEING COMPANY AND THE CITY OF RENTON DURING
18. CONTRACTOR TO CLEANMEED EXISTING LANDSCAPE AND REMOVE DEAD OR DYING PLANT MATERIAL. COORDINATE WITH
PROJECT MANAGER IF ADDITIONAL PLANT MATERIAL IS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN PROPOSED AESTHETIC.
19. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PLANT MATERIALS FOR PLACEMENT IN EXISTING LANDSCAPE AREAS THAT HAVE DEAD OR MISSING
