manufacturing and assembly.
In 2003. tho City conducted an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process that
revieweo the Boeing Company's -"'klve 10 tho lake" proposal. In that anatysis. It was
determ!ned that saveral manufacturing buildings would become s~us buiktings 85 the
Boeing Company consolidated It's properties throughout the Renton area. The original
proposal resulted In the Issuanco of a Determination or Significance (OS). which
triggered an EIS. Tho DS and subsequent EIS was based on c:onsolldation of the
Boeing properties. and amend ing the cay's Comprehensive Plan and zoning associated
with those properties. The proposed building demolition requires a building (demolitlon)
permit from the City of Renton. I~SlmnC8 of this permit Is re liant upon "'Uccessru!
complotion of the SEPA Addenda proooS$.
It has boen dotormlnod that the environmental impacts of the new proposal are
adequately addressed under tho analysis of slgnincant Impacts contained within the
previously adopted EIS . Based on WAC 197·11~(4) c.the addendum process may
be used If analysis or Informatl.'f1 Is added that does not substantially change tho
anatysls of signlJicanllmpacts and altematives In tho elllsllng environmental document.

The actual demolition will be accomphhed by a demolition contractor. The demolition is
planned to commence In 8arty September 2006 and il expected to last 3-5 monthl. The
areal comaining asbestos will bo removed prior to demolition and will be disposed of by
a specialty subcontractor. Thereafter. the demolitIOn contractQt ·,NjU p(oceed to pull down
the buildings. Salvageable materiatssueh at won , copper. and wood will be separated
from the IandfIU debril, Once the superstructures are gone, the concrete floor slabs. and
foundations will be dfImofished and recycled fOf U$fI elsewtlc1e, either by crushing the
conClete on lite 0( trucking it to an off lite location for prOCCl1ing , The foundation piles
will be left in the ground, At the complelion of the demolition. the srte will be graded and
thoreafter stabilized as prescribed In the Storm Water Pollution Prevenlion Ptan
(SWPPP) to the Itorm waler permit.
