PROJECT NARRATIVE
AIRCRAFT APRON POSITIONS REACTIVA nON
The proposed reactivation sites include a tow path for the movement of
commercillljet attCraft and former aircrun positions that.. historically. are
inlennittcntly wed for aircrnfl, pre.flight preparation: The project nreas are
adjacent to Lake Washington end p", part of the Roeing Renton
Commercial ]et Air<:rall Assembly PlanL The Western sile sho",line is
designatt'd urban and consists of a concrete bulkhead and con~" ramp, in
one area. The Eastern sites are~ is ~i;u:ent to a shore, some lOO fc:ct away,
is a sandy shore that is planlCd with omamenlCl plantings. The", will be no
views obstructed as a result of this rroject. The propoSllI is to reactivate 11
previous aircraft pre·flight preparation position~ (see attlched historic
photos). The reactivation i . planed to last • I"'riod of one year or less. There
will not be any runups performl'll at the>e locations. The primary work to be
done wil,l consist of electronic work. engine installation anellor other testing
prior to transfening the aircraft to the nig, htline. The work will consist of
the placement ofabovc ground elcctrical conduit, rawl bolted to th.e edge pf
the existing concl'etl; tow path. The placement of temporary production
shacks at each location . The electrical conduit will hold electrical and
computer fiber optic line. These temporary j mpt G'.'~ments will be removed
when these positions are d~ctivdted in om: year. Total square footage will
be approxima tely 106,Ooos.f .. The total cost Oflhis reactivation ~s
approximately $500,000. The construction dates will depend on the
issuance of permits. Construction will take approximately IWO weeks .
The exemption is being requested bnsed upon the City ofRenlon Shoreline
