TEXT OF INSTRUCTIONS
Your property contains a stormwater management flow control BMP (best management practice) called a
"perforated pipe connection." which was installed to reduce the slorrnwater runoff Impacts of some or all of
the impervious surface on your property. A perforated pipe connection is a length of drainage conveyance
pipe with holes in the bottom. designed to "leak" runoff, conveyed by the pipe. into a gravel idled trench
where it can be soaked into the surrounding soil. The connection is intended to provide opportunity for
infiltration of any lunolf that is being conveyed from an impervious surface (usually a toot) to a local
drainage system such as a ditch or roadway pipe system.
The size and composition of the perforated pipe connection as depicted by the flow control 8MP site plan
and design details must be maintained and may not be changed without written approval either from the
King CourIty Water and Land Resources Division or through a future development permit from King
County. The soil overtop of the perforated portion of the system must riot be compacted or- covered with
impervious materials.

I . As acceptable alternatives to the rebar shown in the PRECAST BASE
SECTION, fibers (planed according to the Standard Specifications), or
wire mesh having a minimum area of 0.12 aqua" Inches per loot sW

knockouts.
2. The knockout diameter shall not be greater than 20". Knockouts shall
have a wall thickness of 2" minimum to. 2.5" maximum. Provide a 1.5"
minimum gap between the knockout wall and the outside of the pipe.
After the pipe. is installed. fill the gap with joint mortar in accordance
with Standard Specification 9-04.3.
3. The ma4rmm depth from the Anlshed grade to the lowest pipe invert
shall be 5'.
4. The frame and grate must be InstaNad with the flange dorm.
5. The Precast Base Section may haw a rounded floor, and the walls may
be sloped at a rate of 1:24 or steeper.
6. The opening shall be measured at the lop of the precast base secdion
7, All pickup holes shah be grouted full alter the basin has been placed.
8. All grade rings and castings shall be set in mortar in accordance with
Standard Specification 9-04.3.
