Home My WebLink AboutRES 1750 t w L�'µ.-�� '' �.��a-' �� b � o� �7 j;�� RESOLUTIOI� �IO . � ��D RE : ANNEXATIGN OF rrRTAIN PROPERTIES LOCATED GENERALLY NORTFiEAST Or THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF RENTON WHEREAS the City of Renton is a municipal corporation operating as a non-charter code city under the laws and statutes of the Sta�e of Washington, and WHEREAS it is deemed to be in tne best interests and for the �eneral welfare of the City of Renton to annex certain properties as herein below more par�icularly described and being contiguous and adjacent to the present limits of the City of Renton, and such annexation also being in the best interests and for the general �telfare of the owners and res�derts o� said certain properties sought to be annexed; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLUED BY THE MAYOR A��D THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT� OF REN.T.ON , WASHINGTON as L o llows : SECTION 1 : It is hereby found and determined that all of the above recitals and findings are true and correct in all respects and that the best interests and general welfare of the City of Renton, as well as the best interests and general welfare of the owners and residents of the areas sought to be annexed,would be served by the annexation of the following described property, to-wit: Exhibits A and B attached hereto. SECTION II : The number of voters residing within the said �er�ito�y sought to be annexed is approximately 2,28Q in number, as nearly as may be determined. SECTION III : The City agrees to pay for the costs of such annexation election. SECTION IV: The City of Renton Therefore prays that an election be called by the King County Council and as other�ise provided by law, to be held anong the qu�ified voters within the territory described hereinabove upon the question of such annexation. There should also be submitted to the elector-ate of the territory sought to. be annexed a proposition that all property within the area annexed shall, upon annexation, be as.sessed and taxed at the �ame rate and on the same basis as the property of such annexing ci��y, to�wit, the City of Renton, is assessed and ta.xed to pay for any then autstanding indebtedness of the City of Renton to which the above area is annexed, contracted prior to, or existing at the date of such annexation . SECTION V: It is further f ound and determined that the City nf �enton's Comprehensive Land Use Plan, as amended, an� al1 integral parts thereof, now on file with the City Clerk, and the Direetor af Records and Elections , includes the area hereinabove _described, and upon approval of the annexation by the electorate of the above area, �uch Comprehensive Land Use Plan, as amended, pertaining to such daseribed area, shall be simultaneously adopted.
