RESOLUTION N0. �� �/
WHEREAS the City of Renton has heretofore acquired from
the Federal Government certain public use areas including those
located within the Plat of Renton Highlands No. 2 as hereinafter
more particularly described, and said public use areas consisting
primarily of narrow strips of land which are not suitable for the
use and development ...o� any park, playground or recreational area,
and
WHEREAS the City of Renton has heretofore initiated the
vacation of a portion of Harrington Place North to provide for the
exchange of such public use area for other areas more suitable for
playground purposes , and
WHEREAS such public use area as hereinafter described
is no longer needed or suitable for any municipal public purpose
and it being � the best interest of the City to declare said area,
as described, surplus and to dispose of it in the best and most
advantageous manner to the City, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The aforesaid findings and recitals are hereby
found to be true and correct in all respects .
SE�TION II : It is hereby found and determined that the
following described property is no longer needed or suitable for any
public use or purpose and there is no foreseeable need or requirement
for said property and same should be disposed of, either by sale or

in order to establish
upon exchange for other, more su�table property
and maintain a playground or recreational area for children, as the
City Council may determine in its discretion; and said property being
described as follows :
All that portion of the Public Use Area of Block 40 ,
corre�ted Plat of Renton Highlands No. 2 , according
to the Plat recorded in Volume 57 of Plats , pages
92 to 98 , records of King County , Washington, lying
Southerly of the following described line;
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 19 ,
Block 46 , said Plat; thence South 3° 35 ' 27" West

along the Easterly margin of Harrington Avenue
Northeast a distance of 25 .08 feet ; thence South
88°59 ' 45" East a distance of 46 feet , more or
' less , to the Easterly margin of the Public Use
Area of said Block 46 .
and the Property Committee of the City Council is hereby authr��ized
and directed to take the necessary steps to dispose of the above
described property , subjeet to approval of the City Council, including II
the exchange of same for other property of equal or greater value II,,
located on portions of Tract 46B , Plat of Renton Highlands No. 2 , �
for the purpose of establishing and maintaining thereon a park or
playground for children.
SECTION II'I : Upon such disposition or exchange of the
above described property, the Mayor and City Clerk are further
authorized and directed to execute a Quit Claim Deed or any other
instrumentsaf conveyance that may reasonably be necessary to '

The portion of Tract 46B to be so acquired in such
exchange, as aforesaid, is described on the attached Exhibit "A" which
