RESOLUTION N0. �� �
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I : The subsistence rate , per diem, for the following
designated officials , to-wit: Mayor, members of the City Council,
and all other elected or appoint`ed officials of the City is hereby
fixed at not to exceed $35 . 00 per day while traveling on City business .
The subsistence rate , per diem, for all other regularly
salaried employees of the City is hereby fixed in the sum of not to
exceed $25 . 00 while traveling on City business .
Such subsistence allowance, as hereinalbve specified ,
shall only be paid when such official or employee , as the case may be ,
is engaged in duly authorized City business and for no other purpose
or purposes . All claims for payment of such subsistence rates shall
be supported by proper vouchers and other supporting documants and
as further provided by Chapter 74, Session lLaws of 1969 .
In case of all salaried or hourly paid employees the proper
department head or person in charge of that particular office , division
or department shall determine when an employee is authorized to attend
official meetings , conventions and related activities pertaining to
official and authorized City business .

In case of ���st'�x� x�3a�xf�jt��x f�3+l�i�� , members of any City
Board o.r Commission� authority for attendance at such official meetings
or conventions pertaining to City business shall be approved upon
majority vote of the members of such body respectively except that in
the event of out of state travel by any such official, authorization
therefor must be passed upon by the finance committee of the City
Council prior to any final action by the City Council; whenever possible

preference shall be given to those officials of the City 's staff
and the Council' s committee who are primarily and directly concerned
official
with the particular subject matter of any such/meeting or convention.
The purpose of the foregoing is to allow those City officials of a
particular City department and the members of the corresponding committee
of the City Council a preferential right to participate in the official
meetings and conventions which relate or pertain most directly to their
particular functiQn and responsibility.
SECTION II: In addition to the foregoing subsistence rates ,
there shall be allowed and paid actual transportation expenses , or an
allowance of 10� per mile for the use of a personal car when authorized ,
whichever is less , together with any taxi fares, telephone calls or
directly related expenses necessarily incident to the performance of
official, authorized business .
SECTION III : In computing the subsistence allowance above
specified, the calendar day (midnight to midmight) shall be the
computation unit, and for fractional parts of the day one-fourth of
the allowance of the calendar day shall be allowed for each period
of six hours or fraction thereof.
SECTION IV : Resolutions No . 1005 , 1230 and 1664 and any other
Resolutions inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
