RESOLUTION NO. �6,`�
(
WHEREAS The City of Renton is now in the process of
continuing the development and improvement of Lake Washington
Park which facilities will be open to the public in the near future
AND WHEREAS it is deemed in the best interest of the
public �to acquire additional properties fronting Lake Washington
, for f.uture development and to retain and preserve open spaces for
the benefit and enjoyment of the general public as park and
recreational facilities
AND WHEREAS there is now available to the City of Renton
for purchase an area of land, approximately 9 to 10 acres total,
together with a lake frontage of about 1500 feet more or less,
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUN CIL OF THE
CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS :
Section I : The above recitals and findings are hereby
found to be true and correct in all respects .
Section II : The City Attorney and Park Director, acting
b and throu h the Park Board are hereby a
uthorized and directed

to negotiate for the purchase of certain lands presently owned by
The J.H.Baxter Company and as further described on Exhibit A
attached her.e.to, and made a part hereof, together with second class
shorelands adjoining, at a cash price not to exceed $310, 000 . 00,
subject, among others, to the following conditions :
A. Conveyance to be made by Statutory Warranty Deed
free and clear of all encumbrances, unless expressly waived by
the City in writing, and Seller to furnish a Policy of Title
Insurance in the amount of the purchase price showing good,
merchantable title .
B. Simultaneously with such acquisition, Seller to
furnish unto City permanezt access , approximately 60ft. in width,

by Easement ar otherwise, acros� the existing railroad tracks a.t
ar near the location af the present crossing, and all without
cost ta the City.
C. Seller ta �urnish unto City, pri.or ta closing, with an
up-to-date survey of the subject praperty; 5eller to pay all Real
Es�ate taxes and assessments .for the year of closing.
D. Seller ta remove, at its cost and expense, a11

� improvements, debris and obstruction within or adjoining subjec�
praperty, unless waived by. the Ci�ty in wri�ing.
E. Seller to provide, without cost ta �he City, an extension
af the existing Lease Agreement with the Por� of Seattle (Harbor Area
which Lease now expires December 31,1971) for a period of not less
-�han 25 years and City ta pay all rentals, i� any, far such extended
period; Seller to assign existing Lease Agreem�nt unto City wi�h
approval of the Por� af Sea�tle .
