HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 4180 • • . � Amended by Ordinanc� �o: �313� CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. 4180 AN ORDINANCE OF TIiE CITY OF RENTON, WA5HINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 3856 , PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 22, 1984, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 4074, PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JUNE 15, 1987, BY EXPANDING THE IMPROVEMENTS AUTHORIZED IN THOSE ORDINANCES AND INCLUDING THOSE IMPROVEMENTS WITIiIN THOSE PERMITTED UNDER LID NO. 329. WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 3856 passed and approved by the Renton City Council on October 22, 1984, as amended by Ordinance No. 4074, passed and approved by the city council on June 15, 1987, the city council ordered construction of curbs and gutters, sidewalks, street lighting, signals, utility adjustments, storm drains, and all necessary appurtenances thereto on S.W. 43rd from Talbot Road S. to SR 167; and WHEREAS, the owners of all property included within LID No. 329 have requested the city council to add certain improvements to LID No. 329 and allow the elimination of certain other improvements; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that requested changes are in the public interest and in the best interests of the property owners, NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Ordinance No. 3856 passed by the city council on October 22, 1984, as amended by Ordinance No. 4074, passed by the city council on June 15, 1987, is hereby amended by including within the improvements to be installed under this local improvement district the installation of a pedestrian and vehicle undercrossing at S.W. 43rd from the property on the south side of S.W. 43rd, 1 "'� � ORDINANCE N0. 4180 � ' previously known as the Lomas property, to the Valley Medical Center properties on the north side of S.W. 43rd, together with all necessary drainage, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, lighting, utility adjustments, and other necessary appurtenances thereto. SECTION II: The estimated cost and expense of said improvement is declared to be approximately $1 . 2 million to be borne entirely by the improvement district, and the estimate of the cost of the full improvement district is increased by that amount. SECTION III: The nature of the improvements detailed herein is such that the special benefits conferred upon the property owners will be fairly reflected by front footage assessment, adjusted for special condition that may exist on the property. All properties within the local improvement district are specially benefitted by these improvements and will be assessed thereunder. 5ECTION IV: Authorization of the acquisition and installation of a traffic signal as part of LID No. 329, as previously approved by Ordinance No. 3856 as amended by Ordinance No. 4074, is hereby withdrawn, as the installation of the vehicle and pedestrian undercrossing removes the need for said traffic signal. SECTION V: Except to the extent modified by this ordinance, Ordinance No. 3856 as amended by Ordinance No. 4074, shall remain in full force and effect.
