� RESOLUTION NO. O��
A RESOLUTION of the City of Renton, Washington,
, retaining counsel for certain services in �'con-
nection with the issuance and sa3.e of two
issues of general obligation bonds of the city.
� �
WHEREAS, the City of Renton, Washington,� is contemplating
the issuance and sale of its unlimited tax levy general �obligation
bonds in the principal sum of $760,000 for the purpase of providing
money to demolish the existing public library build3ng of the city
and construct and equip a new one; and
WHEREAS, the city is also contemplating the issuance and
sale of its unlimited tax levy general obl.igation bonds in the
principal sum of $150,OOO� for the purpose of redeeming and retiring
� a like principal amount of limited tax levy Houser Way Bridge General
� Obligation Bonds of the city issued under date of June l, 1959 and
now outstanding; and
WHEREAS, the Constitution and laws of the State of Washington
require that the questions of whether or not such bonds may be issued
for such pu=poses must be submitted to the qualified electors of the
city for their ratification or rejection; and
WKEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable and to the
best interest of the city that bond counsel skilled in such matters
be retained to draw the ordinances, notices and other documents neces-
I sary for the authorization, issuance and sale of said bonds, and to
give their opinion as to the validity thereof at the time of their
sale; .
, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of� Renton, Washington, as foilows:

Section 1. That Preston, Thorgrimson & Horowitz, bond
counsel of Seattle, Washington, be and they are hereby retained to
perform the services above set forth, and as compensation there�or
the city agrees to pay them as follows:
a. For drawing ali proceedings necessary for the
authorization, issuance and sale of said $760,000 of
bonds and opinion as to their validity at the time ot
their sale, $1, 300.
(In the event the proposition for these bonds
fails to carry, for all services rendered to the
date of election, $200.)
b. For drawing all proceedings necessary tor the
authorization, issuance and sale of said $150,000 of
refund3.ng bonds and opinion as to their validity at the
time of their sale, 450.
In addition to the above, the city further agrees to furnish
said counsel with complete certified transcripts of all proceedings
taken and all documents necessary in the matter of the issuance of the
bonds of each issue.
PASSED by the Council of the City of Renton and approved by
its Mayor at a regular meeting of said Council held this 5th day of
January, 1960.
