1! A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, t^IASHINGTON

� WHEREAS, the CITY OF RENTON is a municipal carporation of the second
dass under the Laws of the State of ��ashington, and said City has heretofore
engaged in extensive studies and investigati.on regarding the advisability of
annexing certain territories to the City of Rentan lying adjacent and contiguous I
to its City Limits and whereas it has been and is hereby found and det�ermined
that it is to the best interest and serving the general .wel�are of the City of
,
� Renton tp annex the territories hereinbelow described which is contiguous ta

the City of Renton,and
, ,
WHEREAS, it has been .and is naw determined that said territory is and
constitutes an integral part of the Renton shopping area and th�t many af the

residents residing therein are employed and caork within the present limits of
the City of Renta� and that a substantial number of the residents of said
territory are members of and affiliated with various civic, church, social and
other organizations of the City of Renton and all or a subs�antial portiQn of
said territory is likewise it�cluded within the boundaries of the Renton School
District, also kn4wn as King County Schaal Districr No. 403; and the City of
Renton being willing and capable ta provide such governmental services to such
territory as may be needed from ti.me to ti.me, and
WHEREAS, the Gity of Renton has hereto£ore duly filed its Resolution No.
. 1093, together with supporting documents, with the Board of County Commissioners
�f King County under date af June 12, 1961, and re-filed its Resolution No� 1096
embracing other and different boundaries, which Resolutian was duly filed with

� said Co�issioners on 3une _ � , 1961, and whereas it is deemed advisable and
iconsidered to be in the best interest of the City of Renton and the residents
� of said territary that a new resolution be adopted and filed embracing ather
and different boundaries, all in compliance with Chapter 282, 2961 Session Laws
of the State of Washington; NOW THEREFORE
, BE IT RESQLVED BY TfiE MAYOR �ND CITX COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS

' SECTION I: It is hereby found and deternained that all af the above

recitals and findings are true and correct in all respects and that the best interest
and general welfare of the City of Renton would be served by the annexation o£ the

hereinbelow described territory.
� SECTION Ii: The boundaries of the area to be annexed are described on
i the attached exhibit, labelled `'-Exhibit A", ��hich is by this reference thereto made
� a part of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein. The number of voters
�
� residing in the sai.d territory to be annexed is approximately 5„9�5 as nearly
; as may be determined.
� SECTION III: The City of Renton prays that an election be called by the
' Board of County Commissioners, or as provided by law, to be held amang the qualified
,
� voters within the territory described upon the questinn of such annexation, the cost
i
of such election to be borne by the City of Renton. The City of Renton �urther
prays that there also be submitted to the electorate of the territory sought ta be
annexed a propositiom that all property within the property annexed shall upon
annexatian be assessed and taxed at the same rateand on the same basis as the
property located within the City of Rentan is assessed and taxed to pay far any then
autstanding indebtedness of the City of Renton to which said area becomes annexed,
contracted prior to or existing at the date of annexation.
