BE IT ORDA TNED BY THE MAYOR AND THE GITY COUNCIL OF THE CI1Y OF RENTON AS FOLLGWS: SECTION I: The CI7Y OF REiVTON, hereinafter referred to as "CITY" hereby . grants unto WILL7AM L. MONSON', an individual, hereinafter called the "GRANTEE", his � ; successors and assigns, under the cond itions and 1 imitations herein prescribed, per— mission to install, lay down� maintain and ope�ate in, over, upon and under the herein— below described streets of the CITY OF RENTONy a coaxial cable, together with the necessary appurtenances thereto, including anterinas for the purpose of erecting and operating a � coaxial cable subscription sys°tem for te].evision signal distribution �o homes of sub, scribers and to such `>usiness and public establishments as may desire this service and for no other t�ses or purposes whatsaever; such streets being described as follows: 5th Ave. E� From 2820 5th Ave. E. To 3522 5th Ave. E, 6th Ave. E. From 2912 5th Ave.• E. To 3103 6th Ave., E. From 3122 6th Ave. E. To 3226 6th Ave. E. From 3405 6th Ave. E� To 34G7 6th Ave. E, "N" Street From 3328 5th Ave. E. To. 514 "N" Street "0" Street From 3502 5th Ave. E. , To 3405 6th Ave. E. 5th Place E, From 513 "0" Street � To 3525 5th Place. E. and all of such installations to be subject to the prior agproval of and under the supervision of the City�Engi.neer of the City of Renton. Whenever it is practicable to make use of poles already erected in such streets, I GRANTEE shall make use of such poles� provided hoc:ever, that ia any area in the CITY which has or ahall hereafter by Ordinance be designated as an area in which telephone, telegraph and electric power wires and cables shall be laid underground, GRANfiEE shail not be permitted to erect poles and run or suspend wires, cables, antenna or other conductors thereon, but sha22 2ikewise lay such wires, cables or conductors in . underground pipes or conduits, and all such work to be done at GRANTEE'S sole cost and expense and unde� the supervision of the City Engineer, to whoai :11 plans or designs shall. first be submitted for approval. Any repair work which requires the disturbance of �riy street or which wiZl interfere with the free use of any street by the traveling _.1,� .. �� t , , . ' ' � � M - - � . ` , w t. � , , � , . ' ' . public shall not be undertaken until permission and approval of the construction and ma nner of d oing the work is ob ta ined f rom the C ity Engineer. SECTION II: A11 poles, cables, wires, antenna or conduits or appurtenances shall be constructed and erected in a neat, workmanZike manner and shall be of such height and occupy such position as the City Engineer shall direct and shall not obstru�t or inter�'•�re with the view f or television reception of other users and residents within said vicinity. Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed to prevent the CITY f rom sewering, planking, paving, grading, altering or otherwise improving or rei.mproving any of the streets of the CITY; and the CITY shall not be liable for any damage resulting to the GRgNTEE by reason of performance of such work or by exercise of such rights of the CIZY, This Ord inance shall not be so construed as to deprive the CITY of any rights or privileges that it now has or which may hereaf ter be conferred upon it, to regulate the use and control of streets. SECTION III: All such cables, wires, antenna and conductors, constructed, run or suspended by the �RANTEE hereunder shall be properly insulated, connected and fastened so as not to be, or come in contact with any object, through or by which a ground or short circuit could be f ormed. All construction hereby authorized shall conf orm to the requirements of the CI'IY'S electrical code, and the rules and regulations of the State of Washington governing overhead and underground construction and maintenance of wires, cables, poles and Can�uctors f or wires or cab'es carrying low voltage electricity. SECTION IV: During the period of this permit, GRANTEE shall keep on deposit in the City Treasury the sum of 'Itao Hundred Fifty and no/100ths Doliars ($250.00) in cash to be used by the CITY f or the purpose of res�.oring such streets, if any, in the manner prescribed by the City Engineer and to compensate the CTTY f or the reasonable cost of any such inspection. SECTION V: The rights and permits herein granted unto GRANTEE sha12 not be deemed exclusive and the right is hereby reserved to the CI1Y to grant any other person, cotnpany, corporation or associa tion, or by itself to exercise the rights and privileges similar to those herein granted. SECTION VT: The permit herein gra nted unto GRA NTEE shall be f or a period of �.� years effective as of February 1, 19b4 and terminating, A� years from . da te t he re of. ^~�_ •�.-.-._ SECTION VII: The GRANTEE shall pay unto the CITY OF RENTON a permit fee in the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($104.04) pe r annum.
