SECTIOn I: Existing Chapter 3 of 'I'it3e VTZ {Fire Regulations) af Ordin.ance .Na.
1528 entitTed "Code of General Ordir�&�ces of the �i.ty c�f Rentorc" is hereby repealed in
its entirety. i
SECTION IIs �'here is hereby established a new Chapter 3 of Title VII (Fire
Regtalations) o� Qrdinance No. 1628 entitled "Cnde crf General Ordinances of the City o�
I Renton" readi.ng as �ollows:

Seetian 7--301 — CREATION — MAP; This Chapter shall be known as the
"Fire Zoning Ghapter" and s�me sha11 cansist of the text hereof and af that
certain map d�ted �?��-�2-��, 1966, identified by the approving signature
of the Mayor an�3 the Clerk on the title page thereof, and marked and desig»
t►ated as th� map of the f ire zones oE the City of Renton, which map is now
on file in the office of the City Clerk. Said map has heretafore been duly
' examined in detail by the City Counci3, and the sarne, together c,�ith any
revisians, additians ar modifications herea�ter adopted or filed with the
City Clerk, is hereby adopted as a gart of this chapter and by this
reference incarporated herein as if fully set forth. Said chapter and
all of its terms are to be read and interpreted in the light af the contents
of said map. If any oanflict between the maz� and the text of this chapter �
is deemed to �rise, the text of the chapter shall prevail. I
Section '7-302. The purpose of ttzis Chapter and the establisH.��ent of
fire $ones as hereinafter designated , S.s to provide protection of c3oseltT
built com�nereial districts against tl�e hazards af fire spreading from
building to building. In establ ishing said f ire zanss as hereinbelac�� set
' farth, reference is hereby rnade ta that certain boaklet e�ntitled
"Recommended �ethod for laying out fire Zimits" as issued by the National ��
Board of Fire Underwriters, date of issue, September, 1956, and ref�:�aence �I
is hereby made tt�reto to dete�tine, in case c�f any dispute, the stand�rds
for requirements .�,� f ire zane No. 1. I
Section 7-343 — FIRE Zt}NES: The City is heret�y divicied inta two {2)
tyges of f ire zones, to—wit. Fire 7anes Z and 3, and the same are designated
and described as follows;
(�1) Fire Zone 1 : Fire Zone 1 sh�ll include and consist of the
areas designated as such in said map above referred to.
Buildings or structur�s hereafter erected, constructed or
moved within or into Fire Zone I shal3. be anly Type I, II,
ZZI or IV constructian as defined in the City of Renton
� Building Code.
(B) Fire Zone -3: �'ire Zone � shall include and consist of the
` areas designated as such in said map above referred to,
Bui�.dings vr structures hereafter erected, constructed ar I
moved ix�ithin or into Fire Zone 3 shall comply with the j
, app2icable requirement af the City of Renton Builciing Cade. I
SECTION III: Any and all ordinances or parts af ordinances in conFlict herewith
including any reference to �'zre Zane � in any ardinanc� or r�soiutian of the Gity af -
Renton including the City's Building Code, are hereby superseded and repealed.
SECTIflN IV: This Ordinance sha2i be in ful2 force and effect from and af ter
