AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY. OF RENTON, � �/ 7 � ��'�
WASHINGTON, AMENDING TITLE VI (POLICE
REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE N0. 1.628
ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF RENTON`t REPEALING�6-167 ,
SECTION 6-163 , 6-164 , and 6-165 ,/AND
ESTABLISHING A NEW SECTION, IN LIEU
THEREOF, DES�IGNATED AS SECTION 6-163 ;
RELATING TO "DISORDERLY CONDUCT" .

SECT"ION I: Existing Sections 6-1.63 , 6-164 and 6-165/of
Title VI (Police Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code
of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" are hereby repealed.
SECfiION II : There is hereby created and established a
new section entitled Section 6-163 entitled "Disorderly Conduct"
reading as follows :
Sec"t"io"ri 6=163
(1) Defzriition� A person shall be guilty of. disorderly
conduct if, with a purpose to cause public danger,
alarm, disorder, nuisance, or if with- : the know-
ledge that .he is likely to create such public
danger, alarm, disorder, or nuisance, wilfully:
(a) creates a disturbance of the public order by an
act of violence or by any act likely to produce
violence ; or
(b) engages in fighting , or in violent, threatening _
or tumultuous behavior; or
(c) makes any unreasonable loud noise ; or
(d) addresses abusive ,vile , or obscene language
or threats to any person present which creates a
clear and present danger of violence; or
(e) causes likelihood of harm or serious inconvenience
by failing to �bey a lawful order of dispersal by a
police officer, where three or more persons are committing
acts of disorderly. conduct in the immediate vicinity; or
(f) damages , befouls or distur bs public property or
property of another so as to. create a hazardous , un-
healthy or physically offensive condition; or
(g) commits a trespass on residential property or on
public property. Trespass for the purpose of thls
ordinance shall mean:
(l) Entering upon, or refusing to .leave, any
residential propaty of another, either
where such property has been posted with
"NO TRESPASSING" signs, or where immediately
prior to such entry, or subseq:uent thereto ,
notice is giveri by the owner, occupant or
personal lawfully in charge of said p��perty,
either orally or in writing , that such entry,
or continued presence, wi"thin said premises, '
is prohibited.

( 2) Entering upon, or refusing to leave ,
any public property in violation of
regulations promulgated by the official
charged with the security, care or
mainteriance of the �roperty and approved
by the govern.ing body of the public agency
owning property, where such regulations
have been conspicuously posted or where
immediately prior to such entry, or
subsequent thereto , such regulations are
made known by the official charged with
the security, care or maintenance of the
property, his agent or a police officer.
This ordinance shall not apply to any peaceful picketing,
public speaking or other lawful expressions of opinion
not in contravention of other laws.
(2) It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in
disorderly conduct in the City of Renton, Washington.
, (3 ) Any person convicted of violating this ordinance
shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $500 . 00
or confinement to the City Jail for a period not
exceeding ninety ( 90) days, or be punished by both
such fine and imprisonment.

(4) If any section, sub-section, sentence , clause or
phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to
be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this
ordinance.
S"ECfiION III: Any and all ordinances or partsof ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall be in full force and

effect from and after its passage , approval and legal publication.
