ORDINANCE N0. �(p I �
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
CREATING AND ESTABLISHING A CONTINGENCY FUND TO
PROVIDE MONIES WITH WHICH TO MEET MUNICIPAL
EXPENSES UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS AS AUTHORIZED
BY RCW 35A. 33 . 145
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS ;
SECTION I : There is hereby created and established a
� Contingency Fund to provide monies with which to meet any necessary
expenses the necessity or extent of which could not have been foreseen
or reasonably evaluated at the time of the adoption of the annual
City budget or from which to provide monies for emergencies as otherwise
authorized by law. Said fund shall be knawn as a "City of R�nton
Contingency Fund" . °
Such contingency fund may be supported by a budget
appropriation from any tax or other revenue source not restricted in
use by �law, or may be supported by a transfer from other unexpended
or decreased funds made available by Ordinance as provided for in
RCW 35 . 33120 ; provided, however, that the total amount accumulated
in any such contingency fund at any time shall not exceed the . equivalent ;
of 1 1/2 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation of property within
the City of Renton at such time . :
Any and all monies in said contingency fund at the end of
each fiscal year shall not lapse except upon re-appropriation� by the
City Council to another fund and the adoption of a subsequent budget .
SECTION II : No money shall be withdrawn from the Contingency ;
Fund except by transfer to the appropriate operating fund authorized
vote of the• �
by a Resolution or Ordinance of the City Council adopted by a/ma,prity
of the entire Council which Resolution shall clearly state the� facts '

` case may be, and �pecifying the fund to which withdrawn maney shall
be tran,sferred.
SECTION III : Any ancl all Ordinances or parts o� Ordinanees
i.n conflict herewith are hereby repealed. :
SECTIQN IV: This Ordinance �hall be in fu11. force and �
ef�ect fram and after its passage , approval an.d legal publzca-�ion.
