• ' RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS the CITY OF RENTON had acquired in 1951 certain parcels of property
generally known as Cedar River Park, particular reference being made to King County
Superior Court Cause No. 440308 and
WHEREAS the City has been the owner of said properties ever since said
acquisition except that portions thereof had heretofore been acquired by the State Highway
Department for the construction of a limited access freeway now extending through portions
of said Cedar River Park, and
WHEREAS the belowdescribed parcel of property within the confines of Cedar
River Park is no longer required or needed for any public use or for any municipal •
purpose whatever and same being excess or surplus property, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, as follows:
Section 1: The above recitals and facts are hereby found to be true and
correct in all respects.
Section 2: The following described property is hereby declared surplus and
no longer needed or useable for any public purpose, to-wit:
All those portions of Government Lots 4 and 7 and of the southwest
one-quarter of the northeast one-quarter of Section 17, Township 23
North, Range 5 East, W.M. , described as follows:
Beginning at the most easterly corner of the tract of land conveyed
to the City of Renton by Superior Court Cause No. 440303 (known as
Cedar River Park) ; said corner being the intersection of the southerly
margin of Maple Valley Road (State Highway No. 169) with the most
southeasterly line of said conveyed property; thence northwesterly
along sail southerly margin of Maple Valley Road (sate Highway No.
169) a distance of 60 feet to the true point of beginning; thence
continuing northwesterly along said road margin 100 feet; thence
southwesterly, parallel with and 160 feet northwesterly from said
most southeasterly line a distance of 225 feet; thence southeasterly,
parallel with and 225 feet southwesterly from said southerly road
margin, a distance of 100 feet; thence northeasterly, parallel with
and 60 feet northerly from said most southeasterly line, a distance
of 225 feet to the true point of beginning (same being a parcel of
property 100' x 225' in dimensions and fronting upon the Maple Valley
Highway) .
The Mayor and the appropriate committee of the City Council are hereby authorized and
directed, after appraisal of above property, to take all necessary actions to dispose of
same on terms most favorable to the City of Renton and subject to the final approval of
the City Council upon such conveyance. /
