CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
' ORDINANCE N0. 29�2
AN ORDINANCE OF. THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
ADOPTING AND ESTABLISHING BY REFERENCE THE
"STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR MUNICIPAL PUBLIC
WORKS CONSTRUCTION, 1975 EDITION" ; REPEALING
ANY'_ AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
WHEREAS not less than three ( 3.) printed copies in book form
of the "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR .MUNICIPAL PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION,
1975 EDITION" as issued and prepared by the Washington State Chapter,
' American Public Works Association, have heretofore been filed and
are now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Renton fo.r use and examination by the general public, and
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable and in the public interest
to adopt said Standard Specifications as hereinabove described,
by reference,
NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
SECTTON I : The "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR MUNICIPAL
PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION, 1975 EDITION" as issued and prepared
by th.e Washirgton State Chapter, American Public .Works Association,
of which not less than three ( 3) printed copies in book form have
heretofore been filed and are now on file in the office of the
City Clerk and made available for examination by. the general publ:ic,
is hereby adopted as the "STANDARD SPECIFICA'I'IONS. .FOR MUNICIPAL
PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION, 1975 ED.IT.ION" by. the. City of Renton.
SECTION II : Any and all amendments, additions or
modif.ications to said Co.de , when print:ed. and filed with the City.

Clerk of the .City of Renton by authorization of the City Council
from time to time, shall be considered and accepted and consti.tute
a part of such Code witho.ut the necessity of further adoption of
such amendments, modifications or additions by the legislative
authority of the City of Renton or by Ordinance.
SEC;TION ITI.: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to duly authenticate and record a copy of the abovementioned
"Standard Specifications" together with any amendments or additions
thereto, together with an authenticated copy of this Ordinance.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall not be construed to
relieve from or les_sen the .responsibility of any person owning,
building, altering, constr.ucting or moving any building or structure
or engaging in any such construction as defined in the aforementioned
r'Standard Specifications" ; nor shall the City of Re.nton or any
agent .thereof be held as assuming such liability. by reason of in-.
spection authorized herein or a Certific.ate of Inspection issued
by the City or any of its agencies.
SECTION V: If any part or provision of. said Code be
� in conflict with any other C.ode heretofore or hereafter adopted
by the. City of Renton, t.h.en in any such event, the more restrictive
provision shall be applicable and control.
SECTIOiV VI : Any and all Ordinances or parts of. Ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, unless otherwise provided
in Section V hereinabove.. :�
SECTION VI�I : This Ordinance shall. .be. ef.fecti.ve_ upon
its passage and five_ .days af.ter its public.a.ti.on.
