AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON , �
4 ESTABLISHING AND CREATING A "DEVELOPh1ENTAL
GUIDELINES ORDINANCE" TO BE HEREINAFTER KNOWN �
5 AND DESIGNATED AS THE "RENTON DEVELOPMENTAL
GUIDELINES ORDINANCE" AS CHAPTER 31 , TITLE IV
6 (BUILDING REGULATIONS ) OF ORDINANCE N0 . 1628
KNOWN AS THE "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE
7 CITY OF RENTON" REAFFIRMING GOALS , OBJECTIVES
AND POLICIES ALREADY ADOPTED TO PROVIDE THE
8 CITY WITH GUIDELINES TO MAKE DECISIONS FOR LAND
USE NIATTERS .

10 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON ,
11 DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
12 4-31 . 1 TITLE AND INTENT . `
13 -�;1. Title . This ordinance shall be hereinafter known as the
14 "Renton Developmental Guidelines Ordinance" , may be cited
15 as such , and will. be hereinafter referred to as the
lE " Developmental Guidelines Ordinance" or "this Ordinance"
17 and same shall be and constitute Chapter 31 , Title IV
18 (Building Regulations ) Of Or,di.n.an_ce. No .. 1628 known as
19 "Code of General Ordinances of the City of P.enton" .
20 2, Intent. It is the intent of this Ordinance to provide
21 the City , especially the Planning Department and the
22 Hearing Examiner with criteria to make consistent and
23 rational land use recommendations and decisions that
24 1 ) place the public health , safety and welfare paramount ;
25 2 ) recognize property rights ; 3) promote aesthetics ,
26 amenities , and good design ; 4) minimize incompatibility
27 of adjacent uses ; 5) minimize pollution ; 6) contain �
28 adverse impacts on-site ; and 7 ) make consistent and
29 rational decisions and recommendations . Furthermore i � is
30 tfie intent of this Ordinance to comply with the various
31 resolutions , codes , and ordinances of the City and the ��
32 State Environmental Policy Act , as amended . Th�i.s, Ordinance �

33 shall be considered as an interim ordinance and shal�l be
34 employed only until the Planning Commission recommends and
35 the City Council adopts more detailed guidelines .
