OF THE CITY OF RENTON" ' RE.LATING TO DOG AN� CAT LICENSES AND PROVIDING ' SPECIAL RATES FOR CERTAIN QUALIFIED SENIOR CITIZENS . ; , THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLL04u'S: SECTION I: Existing Section 5-1602 , Chapter 16 of Title , V (Business Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows : Section 5-1602 , as amended: - ANNUAL FEES - SPECIAL RAT£S FOR SENIOR CITIZENS . The annual licerise fees , based on the calendar year for each dog or cat .over four (4) months of age shall be as f ol lows : Each male dog $5 . 00 per annum Each female dog $5 . 00 per annum Each�:. female dog (spayed) $3 . 00 per annum Each male dog (neutered) $3. 00 per annu� Each cat $1.. 00 per annum City of Renton residents 62 years of age or older,: if income and (E) and (C) qualified as set forth in Section 8-7-15 (D)/and Section 3-23T (�)/of this Code, shall be entitled to purchase a special permanerit license for the lifetime of cats or dogs not exceeding threein number for each household, for wh'ich they are theregistered owners when said animals are maintained at said owner's registered address . Eligible residents according may purchase the special permanent animal licenses at a cost cx�� to fee schedule as above-listed �X�����x��z�� p�x���xix and such qualified senior citizens shall not be required to annually purchase a new license for the lifetime of such licensed animals provided that, no person so � qualified shall be granted more than three .( 3) permanent licenses for � any combination of three. cats and dogs for which they are the -1- , , . � . All applications for such licenses shall be made to the Finance Department �$t}x�����C of the City and the annual license fee paid on or before March 31 of each year. In the event the owner or custodian of any such i dog or cat fails to procure and fails to pay for such license fee before said date, or within thirty ( 30) days of acquiring the ownership or custody of any such dog or cat, a late charge of one dollar ($1. 00) shall be added to the regular license fee. The City may require reasonable evidence to determine the date of acquisition or custody of any such dog or cat .to ascertair. whether a late charge shall be imposed. Finan�e Dept . The ����x����i� is hereby authorized to permit the City' s poundmaster or any other custodian of anirnals impounded pursuant to the provision of this Ordinance, and any duly licerised veterinarian practicing his profession within the City to sell and issue licenses ; Finance Dept. ' the ����X��.��� may impose such additional regu]�tions as may be reasonable Finance Dept. to carry out the provisions of this Chapter. The ��#�X��t��r� is hereby authorized to provide, by appropriate .designation, the special permanent licenses for qualified seriior citizens as hereinabove set forth. SECTION II: All other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. on and after April l, 1977 , and SECTION III : This Ordinance shall be effective/upon its passage, approval and five days after its publication.
