ORDINANCE N0. 4073
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY QF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTIONS 4-301 AND 4-305 OF TITLE IV (BUILDING
REGULATIONS ) OF ORDINANCE N0. 162$ ENTITLED "CODE OF
GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO
ADOPTION OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE BY REFERENCE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASf�INGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Existing Section 4-301 of Title IV (Building
Regulations) of Ordinanc? No. 1628 entitle�7 "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 4-301, as amende�: ADOPTION: The "National
Electrical Code, �987 Edition" , issued by the National Fir�
Protection Association, of which nflt less than one (1 ) printed
copy in book form has heretofore been filed in the o.ffice of the
City Clerk and made available for examination by the public, is
hereby �dopted as the "National Electra.cal C�de" for the City of
Renton, which Code may be hereafter designated as "City of Renton
Electrical Code" , and any and all amendments , additions or
modifications thereto when printed and filed with the City Clerk
of the City of Renton by authorization of the City Council from
time to time shall be consi�3ered and accepted and constitute a
part of such Code without the necessity of further adoption of
such amendments, modific�tions or add.itions by the legi�lative
authority of the City of Renton or by ordinance. In addition to

the National Electrical Code, a City electrical p�rmit z.s
required before any electrical work commenc�s.
SECTION II: Existing SectiQn 4-305 of Title IV (Building
Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended by adding the
following sub-sections:
Section 4-305 (D) : Reinspections and reinspection fees
shall be as specified in the adopted addition of the Uniform
Building Code.
(E) . Investigation fees shall be �s sp�cified in the
adopted addition of the Uniform Building Code.
SECTION III : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval and thirty days after publication.
