ORDINANCE NO. 3984
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SECTION 4-730 OF
TITLE IV (BUILDING REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE NO.
1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO PERMISSIBLE PETROLEUM
OR NATURAL GAS STORAGE, INCLUDED RETAIL OR SERVICE
USES, SETBACK AND LANDSCAPING IN.THE M -P ZONE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Existing subsection) (h) of Section 4-730 (B)'(2)
of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled
"Code of General Ordinances of the City 'of Renton" is hereby amended
as follows:
Section 4-730(B)(2)(h), as amended: Storage of petroleum
or natural gas or any of their by-products, provided that the
total.storage capacity is less than fifty thousand (50,000) gallons
or other applicable unit of measure, and that storage of such products
is placed underground.
SECTION II:
Existing subsection (1) of Section 4-730
(C)(2)(c) of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628
entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby
amended as follows:
Section 4-730(C)(2)(c)(1), as amended: Retail or service
uses shall be developed as part of larger, planned commercial,
office or industrial complexes having common architectural or land-
scaping themes. A retail or service use shall not stand alone, UNLESS
such use has a gross floor area greater than twenty-five thousand
(25,000) square feet. Any stand alone retail or service use, smaller

than twenty-five thousand (25,000) square feet, in existence prior
to the effective date of this ordinance shall be permitted to expand,
subject to all other provisions of City Code.
SECTION III:
Existing subsections (a) and (b) of Section
4-730(C)(4) of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No.
1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" are
hereby amended as follows:
Section 4-730 (C)(4)(a), as amended: Streets: All buildings
or structures shall be located a minimum of sixty feet (601) from any
street or highway property line, except from limited access highways.
Section 4-730 (C)(4)(b), as amended: Other Yards: All
buildings or structures shall be located a minimum of twenty feet
(20') from all other property lines, including limited access highways.
SECTION IV: Existing subsection (a) of Section 4-730 (C)(6)
of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled
"Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended
as follows:
Section 4-730 (C)(6)(a), as..amended: Setback Areas: A
landscaped strip a minimum of twenty feet (201) in width shall be
provided adjacent to all street or highway right-of-way lines, except
limited access highways; and a landscaped strip a minimum of ten
feet (10') in width shall be provided adjacent to interior side lot
lines within the required front setback.,
SECTION V: This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval and five days after publication.
