ORDINANCE NO. r--�--{
AN ORDINANCE of the City of Renton, Washington,
approving and confirming the assessments and
assessment roll of Local Improvement District
No. 244 for the improvement of a certain area
within the city by the construction and in-
stallation of sanitary sewers together with
all necessary appurtenances thereto and by
doing all work necessary in connection there-
with; levying and assessing the amounts thereof
against the several lots, tracts, parcels of
land and other property as shown on said
assessment roll as ordered changed by the
City Council; and providing for the payment
of such assessments into the Local Improve-
ment Fund, District No. 244, of the city
created by Ordinance No. 1794.
WHEREAS, by proceedings duly and regularly taken by the
City Council, the time, date and place of the hearing on the assess-
ment roll for Local Improvement District No. 244 of the city were
fixed at the regular meeting of the Council to be held at 8:00
o'clock p. m. on the 7th day of February, 1961, at the City Hall
in Renton, Washington; and
WHEREAS, notice of said hearing was duly and regularly
given by publication thereof in the Renton Chronicle on the 4th
and 11th days of January, 1961, and by mailing a notice thereof
at least fifteen days prior to said date of hearing to the owner:
or reputed owner of each lot, tract, parcel of land or other property
whose name appears on such assessment roll, at the address of such
owner or reputed owner as shown on the tax rolls of the King County
Treasurer for the property described in the roll; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place of said hearing the Council
duly reviewed and considered said assessment roll and all of the pro-
tests, both written and oral, filed and made thereto and after con-
sideration of such roll and said protests, ordered that each of the
assessments appearing on said roll be reduced by 5.72% and then
further ordered said assessment roll as revised to be confirmed
in the manner required by law; and
WHEREAS, said revised assessment roll has been presented
to the Council, has been examined by it, and has been found to com-
ply with such order of the Council reducing all of the assessments
appearing on the original roll;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City
Council of the City of Renton, Washington, as follows:
Section 1. That the assessments and assessment roll of
Local Improvement District No. 244 for the improvement of a certain
area within the city by the construction and installation of sanitary
sewers with all necessary appurtenances and by doing all work neces-
sary in connection therewith and incidental thereto as authorized by
Ordinance No. 1794, passed and approved September 30, 1959, as such
assessments now stand upon such assessment roll as revised, be and
the same are hereby in all things approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That each of the lots, tracts, parcels of land
and other property shown upon said roll is hereby declared to be
specially benefited by said improvement in at least the amount
charged against the same, and the assessment appearing against
each such lot, tract, parcel of land and other property is in pro-
portion to the several assessments appearing upon said roll. There
is hereby levied and assessed against each such lot, tract, parcel
of land or other property appearing upon said roll the amount
finally charged thereon against the same.
Section 3. The amount of each assessment or any portion
thereof may be paid without penalty, interest or costs at any time
within thirty days from the date of the first publication of the
City Treasurer's notice that the assessment roll has been placed
in her hands for collection, and thereafter the sum remaining un-
paid, if any, may be paid in ten equal installments with interest
on the whole unpaid sum at the rate of 5% per annum, such installments

coming due each year commencing with the year 1962 on the date that
is thirty days after the first publication of said Treasurer's notice,
and each year thereafter one of said installments, together with the
interest due thereon and on all installments thereafter to become due,
shall be collected as provided by law and ordinances of the City of
Renton.
Section 4. All of such assessments or installments thereof,
and interest and penalty if any thereon, when collected by the City
Treasurer, shall be paid into the Local Improvement Fund, District
No. 244 of the city created by said Ordinance No. 1794, and shall be
used solely for the purpose of paying the principal of and interest
on the warrants and bonds drawn upon or issued against said Fund.
