VIEREAS inquiries have been received from the affiliated King
County 4-H Clubs as to availability of an area of City owned
property in North Renton for use over an indefinite period as a site
for holding annual 4-H Club fairs and related activities and uses,
and the same have been considered by the City Council, NOV;, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T --7'E CITY OF RENTON:
1. That the City Council of Re, ton has favorably considered
the matter and hereby signifies its illi ness to make available
to the affiliat,d 4-H Clubs of King County, and their affiliated
organizations, tract of approximately 4-112 acres in the City
of Renton, owned by thl City, situated in the Northwest quarter
of the Southwest quarter of Section 8, Twp. 23 North, Range 5 E. W. M.
and lying westerly of 11other ► s park as expanded under Ordinance No.
1355, for use in connection with the annual fair, and exhibitiong
activities of said organizations.
2. That the City Council is willing to consider and negotiate
formal arrangements whereby the use of said, -tract may be assured
to said affiliated organizations for the holding of annual fairs and
exhibitions thereon, on a long term basis by lease or other firm
committment, together with the privilege of using adjacent park area
of specified size -for parade and exhibition purposes, and the privi-
lege of using adjacent city -owned buildings for interior display
purposes as and when available. The use of the foregoing contemplated
herein shall be such, and under such terms and arrangements, as shall
be negotiated by and between the City Council and the interested
organizations, with definite arrangements for supervision of the prem-
ises, maintenance thereof, and improvement thereof by multiple -use
buildings; and under provisions for use of the premises and facilities
by other persons and organizations and for other public purposes to
the fullest extent possible; and under provisions for coordinated
control and supervision of their use by and between the 4-H Clubs and
affiliated organizations on the one hand and the City of Renton, its
Vark Board, Recreation Council and official agencies on the other hand.
3. It is specifically contemplated herein that title to said
lands, premises and improvements skiall. be and remain at all times
vested in the City of Renton. Nothing herein shall be construed to
obligate the City -of Renton at any time to the expenditure of City
funds upon or for any such project. The purposes, intents and objects
herein expressed shall be effectual for any purpose when, and not until,
confirmed by contractual committments duly adopted by the City of Renton
after the negotiations herein contemplated.
