WHEREAS, the problem of parking of motor vehicles has become an extremely acute one causing unprecedented congestion inmany sections of cities and towns, impeding the flow of traffic, interfering 'with the normal activities of the City, thus placing additional burdens on the Police Department and other law enforcing agencies in the regulation of traffic, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such stated conditions do exist in the City of Renton, NOW, THERE- FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RE1'TON: That the following proposal be submitted for action to the Association of Washington Cities: ttBe It RESOLVED that the Association of Washington Cities go on record to recommend to the State Legislature of the State of Washington the enactment of appropriate law or laws)to enable cities of the second, third and fourth class, �o have, acquire, purchase, develop, hold and use property for the purpose of providing adequate off-street parkin within its city limits and/or, to the extent permitted by law, provide for and authorize the establishment of local improvement districts so as to provide adequate off-street parking facilities.tt PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 20th day of ?fay, 1952. -,gl Wiley Croo `Ciiy Clerk APPROVED BY THE 1,1AYOR this 20th day of May, 1952.
