A RESOLUTION of the City of ,
Washington, calling for an election on the question
of creating a metropolitan municipal corporation,
describing the boundaries of such corporation, and
naming the functions which it shall be initially
authorized to perform.
WHEREAS, there exists within the State of Washington a
populous metropolitan area consisting of nineteen cities and towns,
including the City of Seattle, a city of the first class, and an
unincorporated portion of King County; and
WHEREAS, sewage disposal, public transportation and compre-
hensive planning are essential services which are not now adequately
provided within the said area by existing agencies of local govern-
ment; and
WHEREAS, such essential services can adequately be provided
if King County and the cities and towns within the said area are able
to act jointly to furnish such services; and
WHEREAS, the creation of a metropolitan municipal corporation
as provided by Chapter 213, Laws of 1957, will make possible such joint
action and will be conducive to the welfare and benefit of the persons
and property within the said metropolitan area;
NOW, IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the

, Washington, as follows:
Section 1. Finding of Welfare and Benefit. It is hereby
found and declared that the creation of a metropolitan municipal
corporation as hereinafter provided within the metropolitan area
described herein will be conducive to the welfare and benefit of the
persons and property within the said metropolitan area.
Section 2. Election Called For. The Board of King County
Commissioners is hereby requested to call an election on the question
of authorizing the creation of a metropolitan municipal corporation
pursuant to Chapter 213, Laws of 1957, within the metropolitan area
described herein.
Section 3. When Election To Be Held. Such election shall
be held on March 11, 1958, as a special -election to be held in con-
junction with the regular municipal election on said date.
Section 4. Metropolitan Functions. The metropolitan
functions which such corporation shall be initially authorized to
perform shall consist of (1) metropolitan sewage disposal; (2)
metropolitan public transportation; and (3) metropolitan compre-
hensive planning..
Section 5. Boundary. The boundary of such metropolitan
area and of the proposed metropolitan municipal corporation shall
be as follows:
Beginning at the northwesterly corner of King County, Washington,
being the intersection of the middle of the channel known as
Admiralty Inlet on Puget Sound with the township line between
Township 26 north and Township 27 north, being the true point
of beginning;
Thence easterly along said township line, being also the
Snohomish -King County boundary line to the northeast corner
of Section 4, Township 26 North, Range 6 East W.M.;
Thence southerly along the east lines of Sections 4, 9, 16,
21, 28 and 33, Township 26 North, Range 6 East W.M., to the
northwest corner of Section 3, Township 25 North, Range 6
East W.M.;
Thence easterly along the north line of said Section 3 to the
northeast corner of -said Section 3;
Thence southerly along the east lines of Sections 3, 10, 15 and
22 of said Township 25 North, Range 6 East W.M., to the southeast
corner of the NEI of said Section 22;
Thence westerly along the south line of the NEI of said Sec. 22
to the center of said section;

Thence southerly along the east line of the W2 of said Sec. 22
and the east line of the W2 of Sections 27 and 34 of Township
25 North, Range 6 East W.M., and the east line of the W2 of
Sections 3 and 10 of Township 24 North, Range 6 East W.M., to
the center of said Section 10, Township 24 North, Range 6 East
Thence easterly along the north line of the S2 of said Section 10
and of Section 11, Township 24 North, Range 6 East W.M., to the
center of said Section 11;
Thence southerly along the east line of the W2 of said Sec. 11
to the north line of Section 14, Township 24 North, Range 6
East W.M.;
Thence easterly along the north line of Sections 14 and 13,
Township 24 North, Range 6 East W.M., to the northeast corner
of the NW4 of said Section 13;
Thence southerly along the east line of said NW,i--, of said Sec. 13
to the northwest corner of the SE -1 of said Sec. 13; ..
Thence easterly along the north line of the SE,i—, of said Sec. 13.
to the east line of said Sec. 13, also being the east line of
Township 24 North, Range 6 East W.M.;
Thence southerly along the east line of said Range 6 East W.M.
to the northwest corner of Section 30, Township 24 North,
Range 7 East W.M.;
Thence easterly along the north line of said Sec. 30 to the
northeast corner of said Section 30;
Thence southerly along the east lines of said Section 30 and
Section 31, Township 24 North, Range 7 East W.M., to the south-
east corner of said Section 31, being the south line of Township
24 North;
Thence westerly along the south line of Township 24 North, Range
7 East W.M. and Township 24 North, Range 6 East W.M., to the
northeast corner of Section 3, Township 23 North, Range 6 East W.M.;
Thence southerly along the east lines of Sections 3, 10, 15, 22,
27 and 34, Township 23 North, Range 6 East W.M., to the northeast
corner of Section 3, Township 22 North, Range 6 East W.M., being
the north line of Township 22 North, Range 6 East W.M.;
Thence easterly along the north line of said Township 22 North,
Range 6 East W.M., to the northeast corner thereof;
Thence southerly along the east line of said Township 22 North,
Range 6 East W.M., to the intersection with the south line of the
N2 of Section 13, said Township 22 North, Range 6 East W.M.;
Thence westerly along the south line of the N2 of said Section 13
and the south line of the N2 of Section 14, Township 22 North,
Range 6 East W.M. to the east line of Section 15, Township 22
North, Range 6 East W.M.;

Thence southerly along the east line of said Sec. 15 and the
east lines of Sections 22, 27 and 34, Township 22 North,
Range 6 East W.M., to the south line of said Township 22
North, Range 6 East W.M.;
Thence westerly along the south line of said Township 22 North,
to the southeast corner of Township 22 North, Range 5 East W.M.;
Thence southerly along the east lines of Sections 1, 12, 13, 24 and
25, Township 21 North, Range 5 East W.M. to the south line of the
NZ of Section 25, Township 21 North, Range 5 East W.M.;
Thence westerly along the south line of the N2 of Sections 25,
26, 27, 28, 29 and 30, -Township 21 North, Range 5 East W.M.,
to the east line of Township 21 North, Range 4 East W.M.;
Thence southerly along the east line of said Range 4 East W.M.,
to the southeast corner of Township 21 North, Range 4 East W.M.;
Thence westerly along the south line of said Township 21 North,
to the southwest corner of Section 35, Township 21 North, Range
4 East W.M.;
Thence northerly along the west lines of Sections 35 and 26,
Township 21 North, Range 4 East W.M. to the intersection with
the south line of the N2 of Section 27, Township 21 North,
Range 4 East W.M.;
Thence westerly along the south line of the N2 of said Sec. 27
to the west line of said Section 27;
Thence northerly along the west lines of Sections 27,'22 and
15, Township 21 North, Range 4 East W.M. to the southeast corner
of Section 9, Township 21 North, Range 4 East W.M.;
Thence westerly along the south lines of Sections 9, 8, and 7 of
said Township 21 North, Range 4 East W.M to the southwest corner
of said Section 7;
Thence northerly along the west lines of Sections 7 and 6,
Township 21 North, Range 4 East W.M. to the shore of Puget Sound;
Thence in a northwesterly direction to an intersection with the
center of the channel of East Passage (also known as Admiralty
Inlet) on Puget Sound;
Thence in a northerly direction along said center of channel of
East Passage and Admiralty Inlet to the true point of beginning.
Section 6. Concurrence. This resolution is intended as a
concurrence in the previous action of the City Council of Bellevue,
Washington, as expressed in its Resolution No. 710, adopted
September. 24, 1957.
Section 7. Transmission of Resolution. The city clerk is
directed to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Board
of King County Commissioners.
