ORDINANCE NO. 1429
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON.. WASHINGTON,
DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS AND APPRO-
PRIATING MONIES FROM CITY FUNDS FOR THE PUR-
POSE OF PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF' THE NECESSARY
CAPITAL OUTLAY, SERVICES AND EXPENSES NECESSI-
TA`t'ED BY SUCH EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, since the adoption of the 1952 Annual Budget of the City
of Renton, it has become necessary to provide funds for the purchase
and acquisition of certain lands and properties (known as Cedar River
Park Project) pursuant to Ordinance No. 1415 and condemnation proceed-
ings, Award, Judgment and costs thereunder in the Superior Court of
King County, Cause No. 440308, and for expenses and services in connec-
tion with acquisition and operation thereof; also for construction of a
trunk sewer extension (known as Earlington Trunk Sewer Project) and
procurement of materials, supplies, and services in connectirn therewith;
ail of which were not and could not reasonably be forseen at the time of
adoption of the 1952 Budget;
AND WHEREAS, it is necessary for the proper administration, opera-
tion and maintenance of the City and its Departments to acquire said
lands and properties, and to construct said sewer, and to appropriate
monies from the proper City Funds as hereinafter set forth for the payment
of such expenses, services, and capital outlay; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON:
Section l: That the foregoing recitals and facts are hereby found
and determined by the City Council to be true and existing, and by reason
thereof the Council does hereby declare that an emergency exists.
Section 2: That there be and hereby are allowed and established the
following sums for expenditure in the following classifications, and said
sums are hereby so appropriated, being in addition to the provisions of
said 1952 Annual Budget, to -wit:

Section 3: This Ordinance is an emergency ordinance which shall
not be voted upon until one (1) week shall have elapsed after its intro-
duction, and a copy thereof shall be published as a proposed Ordinance,
together with a notice of the time set for voting thereon.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, epproval. and publication.
Introduced and first reading May 20, 1952.
Hearing held and unanimously passed by the City Council this 27th
day of May, 1952.
