AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ANNEXING
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF RENTON.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapt. 128 of the 1945 Session Laws of the State
of Washington a petition in writing requesting that certain properties contiguous to
the City limits of the City of Renton, hereinafter more particularly described, be
annexed to the City of Renton, was presented and filed with the City Council on the
4th day of August 1952, bearing the signatures of the owners of more than seventy-
five percent (75%) in value according to the assessed valuation for general taxation
of the property for which annexation is petitioned therein, which petition sets forth
the legal description of the property according to government legal subdivision or
legal plats, and is accompanied by plat or drawing outlining the boundaries of the
territory sought to be annexed; and the Planning Commission of the City of Renton
having considered and recommended the annexing of said property to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Renton by resolution adopted at its regular
meeting on September 9, 1952, fixed Tuesday the 30th day of September 1952, at 8 P.M.
at the City Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Renton, Washington, as
the time and place for public hearing upon said petition, and a notice of said hear-
ing specifying the time and place thereof, and inviting all interested persons to
appear thereat and voice approval or disapproval of or objections to proposed annexa-
tion, has been duly published in the Renton News Record, legal newspaper of general
circulation in the City of Renton and the area to be annexed, and true copies of said
notice have been duly posted in three (3) public places within the territory proposed
for annexation, more than one (1) week prior to said date of hearing; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to such resolution and notice, a public hearing on said petition
has been held by the City Council of Renton at the time and place specified in afore-
said notice, to wit: September 30, 1952, at 8:00 P.M. and no objection written or
oral to the proposed annexation having been filed or made at such hearing, and the
granting of such petition being deemed proper and advisable; now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Pursuant to the provisions of Chapt. 128 of the 1945 Session Laws of
the State of Washington it is determined that the above mentioned petition for annexa-
tion to the City of Renton of the property and territory hereinbelow described be and
it hereby is approved and granted, and the following described properties, being con-
tiguous to the city limits of the City of Renton and situated in King County, State of
Washington, be and the same hereby are annexed to the City of Renton, effective on and
after the 25th day of October 1952, and on and after that date said territory shall
constitute a part of the City of Renton and shall be subject to all the laws and
ordinances of the City of Renton then and thereafter in force; said properties
being described as follows:
ttThe West 525 feet of the N2 of the NEI, of the SK- , of the SEI,
Section 9, Township 23 N., Range 5 E W.M. and the West 460 feet
of the S2 of the NEI of the SWr of the SES, Section 91 Township 23 N.,
Range 5 E. W.M.; also known as President Park Addition No. 2, all
situated in King County, State of Washington; and
The South 2/3 of the following, the NF,-,', of the SE4 of Section 9, Township
23 North, Range 5 E. W.M., less the south 15 acres thereof, together with
the south 15 acres of the NES of the SE4, of Section 9, Township 23 N.,
Range 5 E. W.M., a total of 31.51 acres; also known as President Park
Addition No. 3, all situated in King County, State of Washington.
Section 2: The above described annexed properties being contiguous to
Precinct No. 20 of Ward 1, of the City of Renton, shall be and constitute a part of
said Precinct No. 20 of Ward 1 of the City of Renton.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval and publication as provided by law; and said annexation shall
be effective on and after the 25th day of October, 1952; and a certified copy of
this ordinance shall be filed with the Board of County Commissioners of King County,
Washington.
