HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1461ORDINANCE NO. 1461 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF RENTON. WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1945 Session Laws of the State of 'Nashington, a petition in writing requesting that certain territory contiguous to the city limits of the City of Renton, hereinafter more particularly described, be annexed to the City of Renton, was presented and filed with the City Council on the 28th day of April, 1953, bearing the signatures of the owners of more than seventy-five per cent (75%) in value, to -wit, in excess of eighty per cent (80%) according 'to the assessed valuation for general taxation of the territory for which annexation is petitioned therein, which petition sets forth a legal description of the property according to government legal sub -division or plats, and was accompanied by plat or drawing outlining the boundaries of the territory petitioned to be annexed; and the Planning Commission of the City of Renton.having heretofore considered, and recommended the annexing of said property to the Cityj provided that the presently existing unimproved streets in the territory sought to be annexed shall be brought up to the standards required by the City of Renton Engineering Department; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton by resolution adopted at its regular meeting on August 4, 1953, fixed Tuesday, September 1, 1953, at 8 o'clock p.m. at the City Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Renton, Washington, as the time and place for public hear- ing earing upon said petition, and a notice of said hearing specifying the time and place thereof, inviting all interested persons to appear thereat and voice approval or disapproval of or objections to the proposed annexation, has been duly published as provided by law, and true copies of said notice having been duly posted in three public places within the territory proposed for annexation more than one week prior to said I date of hearing; and •z . Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1945 Session Laws of the State of dashington, it is determined that the above mentioned petition for annexation to the City of Renton of the property and territory hereinbelow described be and it is hereby approved and granted, and the following described property, being contiguous to the city limits of the City of Renton situated in King County, State of Washington, be and the same hereby is annexed to the City of Renton, effective on or after the 17th day of September, 1953, and on and after that date said territory shall constitute a part of the City of Renton and shall be subject to all the laws and ordinances of the City of Renton then thereafter enforced; providing that the presently existing unimproved streets in the territory herein annexed be brought up to the standards of the City of Renton Engineering Department by the prop- erty owners therein. The property herein annexed being described as f ollows: That portion of Section.77 and 18, Toim6hip 23 N., Range 5, E.W.M. Beginning at the S.E. corner of south 122nd Street and Rainier Avenue; thence west along the south side of south 122nd Street to the east side of 87th Avenue South; thence south along said east side of 87th Avenue South to the south boundary of a tract of land known as the City of Seattle Skagit Transmission Rine Right -of -Jay, which south boundary lies 230 feet south of and parallel to the Section line between Section 7.and 18; thence west along said south line to a point which is 495 feet east of the west line of Section 18, thence south 184 feet; thence west 454.5 feet to the easterly margin of 84th Avenue South; thence south along said east margin 180 feet; thence easterly 454.5 feet; thence south 20 feet; thence east 67.5 feet; thence south to the north margin of south 132nd Street; thence easterly along said north margin of south 132nd Street to the easterly line of 90th Avenue South; thence southerly along said east line of 90th Avenue South across Renton Avenue to Renton City Limits. -2- SECTION II: The above described annexed property contiguous to Precinct No. 7 of Ward 1 of the City of Renton, shall be and constitute a part of Precinct No. 7 of Ward 1 of said City of Renton. SECTION III: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law; and said annexation shall be effective on and after Septemberl7, 1953; and a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the Board of County Commissioners of ming County, Washington, as provided by law.
