HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 14744 T' d h11. r. } ORDINANCE NO. 1474 AN ORDINANCE CF THE CITY OF RENTON, STATE OF WASHINGTON, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL EQUIPMENT RENTAL FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING SALARIES, WAGES AND OP- ERATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE REPAIR, REPLACE- MENT, PURCHASE AND OPERATION OF EQUIPMENT; FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES USED IN THE ADMINISTRATION AND OPERATION OF SAID FUND. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That there be and hereby is established in the office of the City Treasurer, pursuant to Chapter 67 of the 1953 Session Laws of the State of Washington, a special fund to be known and designated as the "EQUIPMENT RENTAL FUND", to be used as a revolving fund, for the pur- pose of paying salaries, wages and operations required for the repair, replacement, purchase and operation of various equipments, and for the purchase of equipment, materials and supplies to be used in the adminis- tration and operation of said fund. The City Council of the City of Renton may determine from time to time what monies shall be placed and kept in said fund. Section 2: Any such equipment, materials and supplies may be rented for the use of offices and departments of the City of Renton or same may be rented by the City of Renton to other governmental agencies. All proceeds or payments received from the sale or rental of any such property shall be placed into said fund and all disbursements for purchases or payment of rentals for any such property shall likewise be made from monies available in said fund. Section 3: The Budget Director of the City of Renton or his authorized agent is� herebyy designated to administer the "EQUIPMENT RENTAL FUND", to determine the terms and to compute the charges for the rentals to be paid for the use of any such property by any department or office) which has not been purchased for its own use out of its own fund. Section Each office or department of the City of Renton shall pay mo=n y such sum or sums into said fund for the use or rental of any equipment, materials and/or supplies, which have not been purchased by that office or department for its own use and out of its own funds. The City Council shall determine from time to time the reasonable rental to be charged to such office or department for the use of any such property. Section 6= This Ordinance shall -.become effective -on the:..first day of January, 1 4, and be in force and effect. on and after. -that date, and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
