ORDINANCE NO. 1517
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON.,
VACATING ALLEY IN BLOCK 22, RENTON HIGHLANDS
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF RENTON, KING COUNTY,
WASHINGTON,FRESERVING AN EASEMENT AND RIGHT-OF-WAY
THEREIN FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES AND USES.
WHEREAS, a proper petition for the vacating of an alley in
Block 22, Renton Highlands Addition to the City of Renton, King
County, Washington, as hereinafter more particularly described,
was duly filed with the City Clerk of the City of Renton on the
19th day of April, 1955, said petition containing the signatures
of the owners of more than 2/3 of all the property., to -wit: 100
per cent, abutting upon said alley sought to be vacated and which
petition was read at the regular meeting of the City Council on
the 19th day of April, 1955, and WHEREAS the City Council by
resolution did fix and determine the 14th day of June, 1955, at
the hour of 8 p.m, as the date of public hearing on said petition
and directed the Clerk to give notice of said hearing in the manner
provided by law; and 'SHEREAS the City Clerk has duly caused notice of
such hearing to be published and to be posted on said alley for the
time and in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS a public hearing
was duly held upon said petition on the day so fixed at a regular
meeting of the City Council and no protest or objection to the
granting of said petition nor to the vacating of said alley having
been made, filed or received, and the City Council did at that time
vote to grant said petition for vacating and said vacation is, found
to be in the public interest and of public benefit; and WHEREAS
said petitioners and abutting owners have consented and granted unto
the City of Renton an easement and right-of-way for all public uses
and purposes on, to, over and upon. portions of the hereinafter
described alley; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The following described alley, to -wit:

The northerly one-half (8 feet) of the present alley
abutting the southerly line of Lots 3 to 13, inclusive,
Block 22,Athe southerly one-half (8 feet) of the present
alley abutting the northerly line of Lot 2, plus Lots
14 to 27, inclusive, Block 22, Plat of Renton Highlands,
situated in the City of Renton, King County, Washington.,
as recorded in Volume 46 of Plats, Pages 34 to 41.
RESERVING, however, unto the City of Renton the following
described easement and right-of-way for all public purposes
and uses, to -wit:
Five feet on each side of the center line of the
afore -described alley (16 feet in width) throughout
said Block 22.
BE AND THE SANTE IS HEREBY VACATED, subject to the reservation
hereinabove specified.
SECTION II: This ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage, approval and legal publication as provided by law.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 21st day of June, 1955.
