AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 10-1-1030F TITLE X (TRAFFIC)
OF ORDINANCE N0, 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL
ORDINANCES.OF THE CITY.OF RENTON",
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY.OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Existing,Section 10-1-103 of Title X (Traffic
Code) of Ordinance '.No, 1628 entitled "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY.OF RENTON" reading as follows:
SECTION 10-1-103: OPERATION WITHOUT LICENSE UNLAWFUL;
EXCEPTIONS OF FARM AND ROAD MACHINERY, MILITARY AND NAVAL VEHICLES:
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle upon
any of the public highways of this City unless such person shall
have in his possession a current and valid legal operator's license
issued on his own application as provided herein, provided no person
shall be required to obtain an operator's license for the purpose
of driving or operating road machinery, or any farm tractor or
implement.of husbandry temporarily drawn, moved or propelled on
a public highway; provided, further, no person in the military
service of the United States or the National Guard of this State
or any other State when furnished with their operator's permit and
when operating an official motor vehicle in. such service shall be
required to have a vehicle operator's license.
If the operator is charged with the offense of operating
a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor or affected by
the use.of intoxicating liquor or any narcotic drug, as defined
herein, and such operator was, at the time of the offense charged,
without an operatorfs license because of a previous suspension
or revocation, then upon conviction thereof, the minimum mandatory

jail sentence and fine shall be thirty (30) days and a one hundred
dollar ($100.00) fine respectively, and neither the jail sentence
nor the fine so imposed shall be suspended.
If a person operates a motor vehicle while his operator's
license is suspended, revoked or cancelled, he shall, upon conviction
thereof, unless otherwise provided in the preceding paragraph, be
punished by imprisonment in the -City Jail for not more than thirty
(30) days or by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($L00.00)
or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord.= No. 1534 12-13-1955)
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY ADDING A PARAGRAPH TO SAID
SECTION READING AS FOLLOWS:
It shall be unlawful for any person -whose vision is de-
fective as defined by Chapter 46.20 of the -Revised Code of Washington
to operate a motor vehicle upon -any of the public highways of this
City without the use of glasses if the wearing of such glasses has
been a condition to the issuance of a vehicle operator's license
and such condition is noted on the operators license of such person.
SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and legal publication.
