AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING CHAPTER 7 OF TITLE VIII, (HEALTH AND SANITATION) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED t1CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON'# RELATING TO CHARGES AND RATES.FOR SEWAGE DISPOSAL SERVICE; AND APPOINTING THE SUPERINTENDENT OF UTILITIES IN LIEU OF THE CITY ENGINEER. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE.MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL .OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Existing Section 8-715 of Title VIII (Health and.Sanitation) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled.11CODE OF GENERAL -ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON'* reading as follows.: goExisting Section 8»715 - SEWAGE CHARGES - SPECIAL RATES: The monthly rates and charges for sewage disposal service shall be as follows: Single family dwelling units Multiple dwelling units Other than single family or multiple dwelling units $0.75 per month 50% of metered water charge or $0.75 per unit, whichever may be the greater 50% of metered water charge "Service for users not connected to the City water system shall be charged at a rate fixed by the City Engineer, subject to approval by the City Council. '"Where the use of -water is such that a portion of all the water used does not flow into a City sewer but is lost by evaporation, irrigation, sprinkling or other cause, or is used in manufacturing or manufactured products and the person in control provides proof of this fact and installs a meter or other measuring device approved by the City Engineer to measure the amount of water so used or lost, no charge shall be made for sewage because of water so used or lost." BE AND THE.SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: Section 8-715 as amended - SEWAGE CHARGES - SPECIAL RATES: The monthly rates and charges for sewage disposal service shall be as follows: Single family dwelling units Multiple dwelling units Other than single family or multiple dwelling units $1.25 per month 50% of metered water charge or $1.25 per unit, whichever may be greater 5.07 of metered water charge (considered commercial property) Service for users not connected to the City water system shall be charged at a rate fixed by the City Superintendent of Utilities, subject to approval by the City Council. -l« Where the use of water is such that a portion of all the water used does not flow into a City sewer but is lost by evaporation, irrigation, .sprinkling or any other cause, or is used in manufacturing or manufactured products and the person in control provides proof of this fact and installs a meter or other measuring device approved by the.City Engineer to measure the amount of water so used or lost, no charge shall be made for sewage because of water so used or lost. SECTION II: Any and all reference to the office of City Engineer in Chapter 7 of Title VIII (Health and Sanitation) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES:OF THE CITY OF RENTON" is hereby deleted and stricken, and in lieu thereof, the office of t+Superintendent of Utilities" is substituted in all respects. SECTION III: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after March 1_, 1959, and after its passage, approval and legal publication.
