AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
CHAPTER.6 ENTITLED +#GAS PIPING AND/OR GAS APPLIANCES" OF
TITLE IV (BUILDING REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628
ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON"
RELATING TO PERMIT AND INSPECTION FEES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Existing Section 4-605 of Chapter 6 Of Title IV (Building
Regulations) reading as follows:
"Section 4-605: PERMITS FOR WORK ON CONSUMERS PROPERTY: No
person shall install, extend or alter any gas piping or gas
appliance pertaining to, or in connection with, a gas system on
a consumer's premises without first obtaining a permit in the
form prescribed by and from the Inspector to do such work. .Pro-
vided, however, that no permit is required for otherwise servicing
gas appliances. Such permit shall state the kind of work to be
done thereunder, and it shall be unlawful for any person to do or
perform any work other than that designated in such permit. Such
a permit shall also state .the location by street and number of
the consumer's premises where such work is to be done and shall
be valid only for the location so stated. A separate permit shall
be issued for each consumer's premises and shall terminate ninety
(90) days after issuance unless extended in writing by the In-
spector for good and sufficient cause. Persons failing to obtain
permits before the start of work shall be subject to the prescribed
penalties as stated in this Code."
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
Section 4-605 as amended: PERMIT FEES - PERMITS FOR WORK ON CONSUMERtS

SECTION II: Existing Section 4-608, subsection (A) of Chapter 6,
Title IV (Bui.lding-Regulations), entitled "PIPING INSPE.CTION*' reading as follows:
f'Section 4-608 (A): PIPING INSPECTION: Inspector to be Notified
for Inspection: When any work under a permit issued by the In-
spector is completed and ready for inspection, the person to whom
the permit has been issued shall, within twenty-four (24) hours
after completion of said work,. notify the Inspector that the same
has been completed and is ready for inspection and the Inspector
shall cause said work to be inspected within a reasonable time
thereafter. The Gas Company shall not cause gas to enter the con-
sumer's gas appliance through the meter without the Inspector►s
Card of Approval first having been procured. An inspection fee
of five dollars ($5.00) shall be paid by permittee prior to the
issuance of such certificate of approval by the Inspector."
BE AND THE.SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS':
Section 4-608 Subsection (A) as amended: PIPING INSPECTION: Inspector
to be Notified for Inspection: When any work under a. permit issued by the In-
spector is completed and ready for inspection, the person to whom the permit has
been issued shall, within.twenty-four (24) hours after completion of said work,
notify the Inspector that the same has been completed and is ready for inspection
and the Inspector shall cause said work to be inspected within a reasonable time
thereafter. The Gas Company shall not cause gas to enter the consumer's gas appliance

SECTION III: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and legal publication as provided by law.
