An Ordinance consenting to temporary change of schedules
and routes of motor bus transportation by Renton Transit
C orfipany under Ordinance No. 1256.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REN`I'ON as follows:
SECTION I. Whereas by Ordinance No. 1256 of the City of Renton
a franchise was granted to George Bacon d/b/a Pinehurst Transit Company,
for the operation of a motor bus transportation system in the City of
Renton, and due to temporary adverse conditions said Company has requested
a temporary modification of schedules and routes in certain respects
under said franchise;
Now, therefore, the City of Renton hereby agrees and consents to
the following changes and modifications of -routes and schedules as herein-
after expressly set forth, same to be effective for a period of six
months commencing April 15, 1949, and terminating on October 15, 1949;
this consent and agreement for change and modification to be terminated
and the original Ordinance and franchise for esume full force and effect
according to its terms on and after October 16, 1949:
a) The schedule designated "Renton to North Renton.
daily", contained in Section 3 of said Ordinance
No. 1256, shall be suspended for said six months
period; and no service shall be required from
Renton to North Renton or return under said schedule
during said period.
b) The schedule designated "Renton to Maplewood daily"
contained in Section 3 of said Ordinance No. 1256 is
hereby modified, and during said six months period
the grantee company under said franchise shall be
required to furnish only 8 round trips daily between
the terminus at Third .:.-enue and lVells Street in
Renton, and the shopping center in Maplewood Addit-
ion, the first trip to start not later than -6:30 A.M.
daily, and the last trip to start at 7:30 P. M.
daily. No service shall be required on Sundays and
legal holidays. Grantee company shall have the right
to co-ordinate its said service from Renton to Maple-
wood and return with the Black Diamond bus line or
other carrier, and by arrangements with such carrier
to substitute the latter's service for grantees
service on any three of said minimum eight round trips
daily. Pursuant to Section 4 of said Ordinance No.
1256 the grantee company under said franchise shall
have the right to charge a fare up to 15 cents on trips
from Renton to Maplewood or return, corresponding with

the fares now on file or hereafter filed by said
Black Diamond bus line with the State Department
of Transportation.
SECTION 2: Except as hereinabove expressly modified and amended,
all the terms, provisions and conditions of said Ordinance No. 1256
shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3; Said franchise grantee shall signify his acceptance
of the foregoing modification of routes abd schedules by written
acceptance thereof, delivered to the City Clerk of Renton not less than
sixty days from effective date of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
on and after five days from its approval and legal publication; and
shall terminate and be of no further force or effect on and after
October 16, 1949. '
