AN ORDINANCE of the City of Renton, Washington, establishing a fire-
men's relief and pension system and a pension fund, adopting Chapter 91
of Washington Session. Laws of 1947, and declaring effective date.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The firemen's relief and pension system created, esta-
blished, and set forth in Chapter 91 of the Session Laws of the State of
Washington, Thirtieth Session, 1947, is hereby adopted by and established
in the City of Renton. All of the provisions, regulations, and details of
Sections 1 to 13 inclusive of said Chapter 91 are by this reference thereto
adopted and incorporated in this Ordinance and made a part hereof as fully
as if set forth in full herein. Any and all amendments of said Chapter 91
or of any Section thereof hereafter made and becoming effective shall like-
wise by this reference thereto be considered, accepted as, be, and con-
stitute amendments pro tanto of and Dart of this Ordinance, without the
necessity of further adoption of such amendments by the legislative
authorities of the City or by Ordinance. The firemen's relief and pension
system adopted and established hereby shall be administered and operated
under and in accordance with the provisions of said Chapter 91 and such
amendments thereof.
Section 2. There is hereby established pursuant to said Chapter 91
a Municipal Firemen's Pension Board of the City of Renton, to consist of
the officials and, persons designated in said Chapter 91, being initially
the Mayor, who shall be chairman of the Board., the City Clerk, the. chairman
of the Finance Committee,of the City Council, and in addition two regularly
employed firemen of the City elected by secret ballot of the firemen for
terms as designated in said Chapter 91. Such Board and the members,
Secretary, employees, and agents thereof shall have and exercise all powers,
duties, and functions prescribed by said Chapter 91, Session Laws'of 1947.
Section3. There is hereby established, pursuant to said Chapter 91,
in the treasury of the City of Renton, a fund to be known and designated as
the Firemen's Pension Fund, in which shall be deposited monies, bequests,
fees, gifts, emoluments, donations, taxes, interest, contributions by fire-
men including deductions from their pay, and monies deriving through the
State from taxes on fire insurance premiums, all as prescribed by said

Chapter 91. Administration of and disbursements from said fund shall be
conducted and made as provided by said Chapter 91.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective April 1, 1948 and
shall be in full force and effect on and after that date, following its
passage, approval and publication.
