AN ORDINANCE of the City of Renton, Washington, relating to closing
hours for retail beer and/or wine dispenseries,repealing Ordinance No. 953,
and providing penalties for the violation thereof.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful to sell, offer for sale, or consume
beer or wine in any tavern or "licensed premises" licensed to sell beer
or wine, in the City, upon the day of any general, special, or primary
election for any state, county or municipgl offices, during the hours the
polls are open for such election.
SECTION 2: All such taverns and "licensed premises" in the City, in
which beer or wine is sold, offered for sale or consumed by the opened
bottle or in glasses, shall be kept closed and all persons except proprietors
and regular employees thereof shall be excluded therefrom, between the hours
of 1:00 o'clock A.M. and 6:00 o'clock A.M. on any day, and between the hours
of 12:01 o'clock A.M. and 12;00 o'clock P.M. on Sundays.
SECTION 3: Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions
of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine Aot
exceeding $100.00, or to imprisonment in the City Jail not more than 30
days, or to both such fine and imprisonment.Bach violation shall constitute
a separate offense.
SECTION 4: Ordinance No. 953 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days
after its approval and publication.
