AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,`WASHINGTON, ANNEXING TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF RENTON.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1945 Session
Laws of the State of Washington a petition in writing requesting that
certain property contiguous to the City limits of the City of Renton,
hereinafter more particularly described, be annexed to the City of Renton,

was presented and filed with the City Council on August �, 1948,
bearing the signatures of the owners of more than seventy-five per cent
(75%)in value according to assessed valuation for general taxation of the
property for which annexation is petitioned therein, which petition sets -
forth a legal description of the property according to government legal
subdivisions of''legal plats:, and is accompanied by plat or drawing out-
lining the boundaries of the territory sought to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council bf Renton by its Resolution No, A 6
adopted September 7, 1948, fixed Tuesday the 21st day of September, 1948,
at 8:00 P.M. at the City Council.Chambers in the City Hall in the City
of Renton, Washington, as the time and place for a public hearing upon
said petition, and a notice of said. hearing specifging the time and place
thereof, and inviting all interested persons to appear thereat and voice
approval or disapproval of or objections to the proposed annexation, has
been duly published in the Renton News Record, a legal newspaper of gen-
eral circulation in the City of Renton and in the area to be annexed, and
true copies of said notice have been duly posted to three (3) public places
within the territory proposed for annexation, more than one week prior to
said date of hearing; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to such Resolution and notice, a public hearing
on said petition has been held by the City Council of Renton at the time
and place specified in aforesaid notice, to -grit: September 21, 1948, at
8:00 P.M., and no objection written or oral to the proposed annexation
having been filed or made at such hearing, and the granting of said
petition being deemed proper and advisable; now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section l: Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1945
Session Laws of the State of Washington it is determined that the above
mentioned petition for annexation to the City of Renton of the property
and territory herein below described and it hereby is approved and granted,
and the following described property, being contiguous to the city limits
of the City of Renton and situated in King County, State of Washington, be
and the same hereby is annexed to the City of Renton, effective on and
after the 1st day of October 1948, and on and after that date said terri-
tory shall constitute a part of the City of Renton and shall be subject to
all the laws and ordinances of the City of Renton then and thereafter in
force; said property being described as follows:
Beginning at intersection of West line of Shattuck Street and
North line of 7th Avenue in City of Renton, King County, Wash-
ington; running thence West along said North line 120 feet;
thence North parallel with Shattuck Street to its intersection
with the South line of Sixth Avenue, produced West; Thence
West along said line produced West to the Easterly line of
State Road No. 5; thence Northerly along said Easterly line to
the Southwest corner of Block 2, Wefancs Addition to the City
of Renton, King County, Washington; thence Easterly along said
South line of Block 2 to the West line of Shattuck Street; and
thence South along said West line of Shattuck Street to point
of beginning.
Section 2: The above described annexed.property being contiguous to
the First Precinct, of the Third Ward of the City of Renton, shall be and
constituteO a part of said First Precinct of the Third Ward of said City
of Renton,
Section 3: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five
(5) days from and after its passage, approval -and publication as provided
by law; and said annexation shall be effective on and after the 1st day
of October, 193+8; and a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed
with the Board of County Commissioners of King County, Washington.
Passed by the City Council this 21st day of September, 1948.
