ORDINANCE NO. 1252
An Ordinance of the City of Renton, Ashington, providing
for the construction of a swimming pool and necessary
facilities therefor and submitting the proposition of
the construction of such pool and the issuance of general
obligation bonds of said City in the sure of $100,000 to
nay therefor, to the oua.lified voters of said City for
ratification or rejection at a special election to be
held August 20, 1946, and providing for the calling
and holding of said election.
WHEREAS, it is deemed advantageous and necessary to the residents
of the City of Renton that a swimming pool, with necessary bath houses,
dressing rooms and heating plant, be constructed and installed in
Liberty Park in the City of Renton for the use of such residents;
NOV, THEn - FORE, The 'City Council of the City of. Renton,
Washington, does hereby ordain as follows:
Section_ 1.
That the City of Renton shall construct a swimming
pool and necessary and adequate bath houses and dressing rooms adjacent
thereto, and install a.. heating plant adequate to heat the rater for
said pool, in Liberty Pars in the City of Renton. That General
Obligation Bonds of said city in the sum of One Hundred Thousand
Dollars shall be issued and sold to nay therefor, said bonds to bear
interest payable semi-annually, at a rate not exceeding 35 tier annum,
to be numbered from 1 to 100, inclusive, to be in denominations of
`„1,000.00 each, and to mature serially in order of their number in
from 2 to 10 years from date, in such amounts as will as near as
practicable, together with the interest on said bonds, be met by
equal annual tax levies for the payments of nrincinal and interest
thereon. Said bonds shall be redeemable at the option of the City
at na.r end accrued interest, in inverse numerical order, upon any
interest neymen_t tate on and after five years from the date thereof,

and shall be payable, both prircioal and interest, by annual
tax levies without limitation as to rate or amount. The exact
date, form and maturities of said bonds shall be as hereafter
fixed by ordinance of the Council of the City of Renton.
Section 2. That the pro-oosi.tion of the construction of
such swimming pool and the above described added facilities
thereto, and the issuance of general obligation bonds of the
City in the sum of ?100,000.00 to nay therefor, be submitted
to the qualified voters of said City for ratification or rejection
at a special election to be held on the 20thda.y of AuguBt, 1946.
That the proposition to be submitted at said special election
shall be substantially in the following form, to -exit:
P R O P O S I T I O N
Shall the City of Rentor_, Washington, construct
a swimming pool and construct and install necessary
bath houses, dressing rooms and a, heating plant
therefor end, to pay therefor, issue its general
obligation bonds in the sum of $100,000, bearing
interest, payable'semi-annually, at a rate not to
exceed 3�. per annum, and maturing in from 2 to 10
years from date, said bonds to be naya.ble by annual
tax levies without limitation, all as provided by
Ordinance No. 1252 of the City of Renton?

Section 3. That the Election Board of Xing County be and

the same is hereby recuested and authorized to call and 'hold said
election, to give such notice and canvass the result thereof, as
provided by statute.
Section 4. In case t�-e proposition above set forth shall. be
ratified. and approved by the qualified voters of the City of Renton.,

at said election, the authorities of said City are hereby
authorized to Proceed with the construction of said swimming
tool and tie construction and installation of said additional
facilities, and the issuance and sale of said bonds to nay
therefor.
