THE CI�'Y COUIdCIL OF THE CITY OF �ENTON, PIASHINGTON DO OI�AIN AS
FO LLO'�lS:
SECTION I. It shall be unl,�.wf'ul for ar�y person to fire, dis-
char�e, explode, use, purchase, sell or offer for sale any squib, fire-
craeker, torpedo, dyn�nite cane or other fireworks or powder explositre$
which contain black powder or chlorate of potash, within the limits of
the City of Renton, provided however, that the above shall not apply
to the msnufacture or keeping of the same b� manufacturers, jobbers or
wholesalers for ths use or sale outside the limits of the Ci�y of Renton,
under re�ulations prescribed by the Fire Chief and �ovided flzrther,
that there may be displsys oP fireworks and that fireworks may be sold
or purchased for such display for public purposes or public occasions
under the supervision or control of ths Fire Ghief.
SECTION IZ. It shall be lawful to sell the following items, viz;
Flashcrackers or Flashlight Firecraakers not exceedin� two inches in
length which contain alutninum powder, but do not contain black powder
or chlorate of potash, also those certa,in fireworks l�own as sparklers,
ro�n candles, flower pots, squibs and pin wheels. It shall also be
lawful to sell cap pistols and cap guns, pronidin� no t0y' gUriB shall
be sold for u�e with blank cartr3dges.
SECTION III. It shall be unlawful to sell either retail or whole-
sale any of the above p¢�escribed items without fixst obtaining a arrit-
�en permit to be issued under the supervision of the Fire ChieY. Provided
however thr�t the Fire Chief ahall onl�r issue permits to those persons,
firms or corporations who conduct a general mercantile busin�ess within
the City limits of Renton.

SECTION IV. The permits grar�ed by the Fi�°e Chief, under
the provisions of the preceding section, shall be limited so �ha�
the permittee is only authorized and a llowed to sell t he articles
hereinbefore set out for�eYen days prior to the Fourth of July and
for p�e dayZ subsequent to the Faurth of Jtily.
SECTIOId Y. 9n�r person, firm, corporation or other association
of persons, convicted of any violation of this Ordinance, ahall, upon
conviction, be punished by a fine of not to eaceed �100.00, or by im-
prisonment, in the City Jail, of not to exceed thirty (30) days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTI(?N VI. Ordinance No. 202 and all other Ordinances and
parts of Ordinances in conflict nerewith dre hereby repealed.
SECTION VII. This Ordinance shall be in full force arid effect
five (5j days from and after its passage, approval and legal publicat-
ion.
