NEW BUSINESS: The Commissioners shared their experiences/encounters with diversity
issues during March:
_ ➢ B_arbara Clark-Elliott participated in a day of silence for Parents, Families & Friends of
Lesbians and Gays.
➢ There was a discussion on the Swine Flu epidemic. Kathleen Booher mentioned that any
Boeing employee having flu-like symptoms, was mandated to stay home for seven days.
Kathleen Booher, showed a very interesting DVD, "OUCH! That Stereo-Type Hurts". Boeing
uses this tool for employee training, in multi-cultural events, workshops, etc. It was suggested it
would be educational for the upcoming Renton-Tukwila-Federal Way Combined Workshop
