Section l: iHAT u'1HERr,AS by reason of a shortage of �'
water, it is necessary to increase the size of the present I
reservoir and to install and operate a pump, and
WHEREA�, in making up the bud�et for �he current
fiscal year it could not ha��e reasonably been forseen that
it would be necessary to increase the size of the preserit
reservoir and to install and operate a pump, and
?NHEP.EAS by reason of the peculiar circur�stances and
the exi$encies herein existing it has become necessary for I
the Cityr of Renton to incur expenses to provide for the
increase of the water supply, of the city , and I
i�HEREAS i t is es t imated tha t the c os t of enlarg ing ��
and repairing the reservoir to canform �rit:n the existing

need, the installat�on of a purnp and the cost of o�erating
the same for the balance of the fiscal year is the sum of
�jive Thousand Sixty Dollars (�5060.00� ; and
'.�EAS, said emergency is nat one of the emergencies
specifically mentioned in Section 6, Ghapter 158, Session �
I�aws of 1923;
N��fi, iHEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIi�ED that there be and
hereby is appropriated in addition to the amount in the budg�t
for the year 1927, the sum of Five Thousand Sixty Dollars
($5060.00} out of the water fund for the enla.r�ing and
repairing of the reservoir, installation of a pump and
operating e�enses . An er:iergency is hereby declared to exis�.
Section 2: This ordinance shall not be passed until
�ne week after its introduction and it shall require the I
unanimous vote of the members of the �ouncil present and the
approval of the �aynr.
Section 3 : Tr�is ordinance shall become effective
fi�e days fro�n and after its passage, approval and le�al
pubZication. �
