ALIVE AND FREE ANNUAL REPORT a) Presentation ALIVE & FREE 2015ANNUAL REPORT Alive & Free buildsmeaningful relationshipswith youth involved ingangs, violence, and thejuvenile justice system andconnects youth to people andservices that help them stayAlive & Free. In 2015, we served AT A GLANCE Page 1 youth525 youth were enrolled in an Alive & Freegroup, where they received Youth in our warrant prevention program had 21 218We reached out to youth with upcoming court hearings fewer warrants than youthnot in the program1/4 15,000 visits with youth at home, school, and in thecommunity 3,102 youth at We Day were inspired by our outreach workers Our outreach workers had 70%of youth were successfully connected to services, includingeducation and employment 568 hours of job andlife skills training AGENDA ITEM #1. a) 2015 HIGHLIGHTS The Alive & Free team created and facilitated new ways of helping youth gain skills: -8 youth attended 168 hours of program where they learned theart of airbrushing - used for creative expression, potentialemployment and as a way to connect with other youth. -14 youth attended 400 hours of Alive & Free class at their highschool, where they learned how to eliminate violence from theirlives. -50-65 youth detained at King County Juvenile Detention startedplanning for their return to the community with support from ouroutreach workers and in partnership with the IF Project (acollaboration of law enforcement and currently and previouslyincarcerated adults sharing personal experiences to help reduceyouth recidivism). We also welcomed a new Program Director, Jovi Catena,who brings 7 years of experience managing the Alive &Free program to her new position. Together, and alongside the outreach team, the leaders ofAlive & Free are working to ensure success for our youth.
