ORDINANCE NO. 5804
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
SECTIONS 4-2-010, 4-2-080 AND 4-2-130 OF CHAPTER 2, ZONING DISTRICTS —
USES AND STANDARDS, AND SECTION 4-11-040, OF CHAPTER 11, DEFINITIONS,
OF TITLE IV (DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS) OF THE RENTON MUNICIPAL CODE,
ESTABLISHING THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS DISTRICT BY AMENDING
REFERENCES, REGULATIONS, AND THE DEFINITION OF "DOWNTOWN
PEDESTRIAN DISTRICT."
WHEREAS, the City intends for powntown to be an area with businesses that
encourages pedestrian activity and it is appropriate for the City to regulate certain properties in
a manner that seeks to encourage pedestrian activity; and
WHEREAS, the City seeks to ensure that the Downtown Business District is mapped
consistently; and
WHEREAS, this matter was referred to the Planning Commission for investigation and
study; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on January 6, 2016,
considered all relevant matters, and heard all parties in support or opposition;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Subsection 4-2-010.E, Additional Restrictions on Land Use, of Chapter 2,
Zoning Districts — Uses and Standards, of Title IV (Development Regulations) of the Renton
Municipal Code, is hereby amended as follows:

SECTION IV. Subsection 4-2-130.B.12 of 4-2-130.B, Conditions Associated With
Development Standards Table for Industrial Zoning Designations, of Chapter 2, Zoning Districts
- Uses and Standards, of Title IV (Development Regulations) of the Renton Municipal Code, is
hereby amended as follows:
12. References to "principal arterial streets" include principal arterials
as defined in the Arterial Street Plan and depicted in RMC 4-2-080_E. �a�4

SECTION V. The definition of "Downtown Pedestrian District" in section 4-11-040,
