Eleanor Simpson, Secretary, Linda Middlebrooks Jerri Everett, Mike O'Halloran, Evelyn Reingold, Britt Peterson, Doug Kyes, Fred Lund. Absent: Kristi Hand, excused. Dawn Murin, excused. Vincent Orduna. Patricia Riggs, excused. Staff.• Peter Renner, Diane Wagner Jennifer Davis-Hayes, Community Development Project Manager, Economic Development Department. Chair Pat Pepper called the meeting to order at 8:05 am. Chair Pat Pepper welcomed the new members, Doug Kyes &Fred Lund, who gave brief bio's. Both were warmly welcomed to the Committee. PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTE APPROVAL: Dou�noted a conection to the November meeting minutes. In regards to the sister city painting on 7 floor, Cuautla is the city and Jalisco is the state in Mexico from whom the picture was received. Mike O'Halloran moved to approve the minutes with correction, second by Ellie Simpson. All voted in favor, motion passed. BUDGET REVIEW: Peter Renner noted no changes. Council will be discussing entire budget at next Monday's meeting. CORRESPONDENCE: Miscellaneous materials from other organizations were mentioned and passed around. Item 3 of Action item List to be removed as this is complete. Master Plan is pending. Council Committee's will change in 2008 and waiting for this to happen to once again pick up discussions. Welcome to Renton Sign: Britt and Mike to pick a location at Tiffany Park, exterior. It is currently at Glassworks for minor repairs, which they offered to do at no charge. Note: peter mentioned the deck originally removed from the budget has been put back in and will be built. Council Chamber Wall Art: To be installed today after the meeting.. City Center Parking Garage: Peter discussed the window art and advised there will be film placed over the windows where the Farmer's Market items are being stored. Burnett Linear Park Art: To be moved and placed by Parks Department as part of the park remodel. The statue will go out for repairs sometime in February and return for placement sometime in June. 4Culture Grant: Grant deadline is December 10. Consultant requested all submitted documentation be returned by the 7`h. We are looking to gain funds for the Art Commission, not less for Carco. Funds are two year sustainable and can be used any way Commission would like, if granted. Evelyn Reingold offered to give the Committee a tour of the Seattle Arts Museum,just will need to pick a date &time and let her know. Seattle Art Museum tour: choice of dates: January 9, 16, 23, or 30, 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm start. SCULPTURE PARK Peter reported nothing new at this time. MAINTENANCE/REPAIR OF ART: The little boy statue located at the Library is being repaired by Art-tech. Hope to be completed beginning of 2008. MISCELLANEOUS: It was noted there are approximately ten pieces of art without name identification. Kiosk language at the new Heritage Park has no information regarding the art placement by Dawn Murin/Municipal Arts Commission. Also,the art work/painting on the 7`h floor, received from Jalisco is not identified. MISCELLANEOUS CONTINUED: Ellie moved to get new vests for the committee, Britt seconded. All voted in favor, motion passed. Garment sizes taken, Diane will order ASAP. NEW BUSINESS: Pat mentioned that the City of Seattle increased its art budget by$lmillion. Peter discussed the new annexation. 200 Mill Building rehab, Community Services expansion, etc. 91 new positions to be added, approximately 1/3 in the Police Department.
