Lumbert: DRS has completed design revisions for the above referenced project at the request of the Owner's representative, Ms. Patricia Johnson-Holm. `'e revieved the downstream path and did not observe any problems with the downstream conveyance system, ith one exception. We vere unable to locate the storm drainage structure on the south margin of Sunset Way, which apparently receives runoff from the site's natural discharge point. However, at our request, City of Renton staff performed a dye test which confirmed that site runoff is conveyed southeast beneath SW Sunset Boulevard. The runoff is then conveyed into the inventoried drainage system that provides the downstream path for the site. According to the previously prepared Technical Information Report, the proposed project site post-developed peak runoff rate far the 100-year, 24-hour duration design storm event is 0.87 cfs. The pre-developed peak runoff rate for the same design storm is 0.56 cfs. Since the increase is less than 0.5 cfs, the project is exempt from Core Requirement #3 — Runoff Control, per Section 1.2.3-5 of the 1994 King County Surface Water Design Manual. We have therefore redesigned the vault as a water quality facility located beneath the planter strip. The vault collects runoff from the site impervious surfaces subject to vehicular traffic (driveways and access road). Revised hydrologic calculations for the water quality design storm are included (see attached). The new sidewalk will be located south of the right-of-«ay line, with the landscape strip adjacent to the curb and gutter. The new 8-inch water main will be located adjacent to the right-of-way line, in approximately the same location as the existing 4-inch water main. . . . If you should have any questions regarding the design revisions, please give me a call. Sincerely, D. R. Strong Cnsniting Engineers Inc. -- -, - -- J Luay R. Joudeh, P.E.
