EASEMENT FOR ROADWAY SLOPES AND SIDEWALK AREAS
In the Matter of the Consent to Grant of Easements pertaining to the
leased premises described below between CHEVRON U.S.A. , INC. , Lessee,
and the CITY OF RENTON, Grantee, dated 12 September 1980,
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That the SEATTLE-FIRST NATIONAL BANK,
Agent for the Trustees under the Will of H.L.M. Peabody, as Lessor,

CONSENT TO GRANT OF EASEMENTS
THIS CONSENT TO GRANT OF EASEMENTS dated as of the lst day �
of September, 1980 by CHEVRON U.S.A. INC. , a corporation, herein-
after called "Lessee, "

� filed for record with the Auditor of King County, Washington on
September 27, 1965, under Auditor' s File No. 5932872, records of
King County, Washington, SEATTLE-FIRST NATIONAL BANK, Agent for
the Trustees under the Will of H. L. M. Peabody, deceased, leased
to Standard Oil Company of California, Lessee' s predecessor in
interest, the following described premises in the County of King,
State of Washington, to wit:
South 112 feet of the following described parcel:
East half af the southeast quarter of the southeast
quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 9, Township
23 North, Range 5 E. , W.M. , in King County, Washington;
EXCEPT the west 100 feet of the south 510 feet and
EXCEPT the north 150 feet and EXCEPT county roads,
hereinafter called "leased premises, " and
WHEREAS, Lessor proposes to grant to the City of Renton, �
hereinafter referred to as "Grantee, " an easement over a portion
of the leased premises described as follows: �
That portion of the South 142 feet of the East 1/2 of
the Southeast 1/4 of the Southeast 1/4 less the West �
100 feet which is located in Section 9, Township 23 N. ,
Range 5 E. , W.M. , less streets, described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of the above
described property; thence northerly along the
West line a distance of 3 feet; thence easterly
parallel with the South line of the above '
described property a distance of 188. 97 feet to a
point of curvature; thence northeasterly along a
curve to the left having a radius of 12 .50 feet,
an arc distance of 18.85 feet to an intersection

WHEREAS, Lessee is willing to consent to the said grant of
easements, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, Now,
Therefore,
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF THE FOREGOING, Lessee hereby
consents to the grant by Lessor to Grantee of the above described
easements, subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. The aforesaid consent is granted subject to the interest
of Lessee in the easement premises by virtue of the above described
lease, but Lessee does hereby agree that Grantee shall have the
right to use the above described easement premises for the pur-
poses above set forth under and by virtue of any grant by said
Lessor of easements for such purposes, subject to and reserving
the p�ior rights of Lessee therein.
2 . Grantee, by the acceptance of this consent, agrees to
hold harmless and indemnify Lessee, its successors and assigns,
from any and all damages to the equipment and facilities of ,
Lessee caused by, or resulting from, any work done by Grantee on I�
or about the easement premises. ;
3 . Grantee, by acceptance of this consent, agrees that any

work performed on or about the easement premises shall be com-

pleted as expeditiously as possible and with the least possible 'I

4. Grantee, by acceptance of this consent, agrees that
Grantee will, at Grantee' s expense, promptly restore any and all �
paving, plantings, curbs, planting areas, floodlighting fixtures
and wiring, and any other equipment or facilities of Lessee dis-
Nturbed by the exercise of any of Grantee' s rights under said

0 easements, such restoration to be to as good condition as prior
