1. Airport Issues Update
a. Open House 11/21/06. Fifty-nine people signed-in.
i. Why have a plan?
ii. Need airport?
iii. Not more notice on Boeing Field shutting down – associated noise with new airport plan.
iv. Where is data on jet and other options, i.e. revenue/costs
1. $85/month tiedown
2. $5/sq. ft v $15/sq ft revenue
v. Jets come and go, not constant touch and goes.
b. Next steps in Airport plan process.
i. Public Meetings – Airport Plan
1. Renton 1/16/2006 6 pm
2. Mercer Island 1/17/2006 Time undetermined
3. A press release will be issued to announce meetings
4. Presentation; panel will then answer questions. Panel members: Mike O’Halloran, Ryan
Zulauf, John Yarnish.
5. Invitations to neighborhood organizations; notice on website; Chamber of Commerce
6. TV Channel will hopefully broadcast.
2. Overview SATS – Colleen Turner
a. Target your market to help noise reduction for VLJ – can’t completely eliminate noisy jets because can’t
arbitrarily limit what planes come to Renton.
3. Software for SATS and Renton level East Channel approach
a. Del could not make meeting
b. Curved approach (RNP)
c. Timing – Start year 2007; submit to FAA 1-2 years
4. Preferred Airport Layout Plan
a. Ms. Palmer discussed the Preferred Airport Layout Plan—4 variations will come to RAAC
b. Boeing picture from Portland Airport (Flightcraft) to give good idea of a jet center
c. Timeline needs to be revised for ALP
d. Renton Reporter – January article on history and future of airport
e. Not done deal on policy decision
5. Noise Study
a. Run integrated noise model
b. Single event noise level determination
